Nothing OS going on here at all today apart form the children making their own pizzas for tea. DH and I can hardly walk after a crazy weekend sorting this truck show and actually going yesterday. The car transporter loading demonstration went OK and they didn't manage to crash any of the cars or vans. They raced against each other (2 men on each team) and managed to load 12 cars on one and 9 vans on the other in 7 1/2 minutes. Not bad when it usually takes half an hour
Dh staggered off to work at 6am so it's just me and the kids for the week and now they're off school I can't even potter round without falling over various controller cables. Roll on 16th August when they go back to school :D

Im also feeling in a baking mood - Im actually going to get round to hand baking a loaf today, and maybe some other stuff I can stick in the freezer, as I have a million eggs that need using. I think ill make some muffins..... Yum!!

I've had a great Old Style weekend :D

Friday Night : Went to see Startlight Express and splashed out on a Broucher and CD (£19 total!). OH paid for the taxi into town (£5) as I only had £20 notes with me and he also bought a programme during the interval (£3). Bought myself a drink from the bar in the theatre (£1.70 for a J20 so not that bad, but I'm glad that I didn't by an alcholic one!) and I paid £5 for a taxi home to the door as it was raining when we got out. Our original plan was pick up the tickets, go to McDonalds, watch the show (and buy a CD but OH didn't know that bit), and then head to clubs/pubs as DD was sleeping at my mums. We ended up going straight to the theatre and straight home again! The show was finished at 9.40pm so we were home by 10pm, just in time to watch Big Brother.

Saturday : Laundry a plenty and dishes a plenty as well! Did the first big shop for the month. I learnt last month that 1 big shop is not good due to lack of cupboard space so I'll make things last as long as possible before going to do another big shop. OH bought himself some DVDs from his £100 - Van Helsing, oceans eleven & oceans twelve, creep, and the "Vampires Collection" which is 3 DVDs itself. We've already watched 4 of them

Picked DD up from mums only to discover that she didn't go to sleep until midnight but was up at 6am  Borrowed a DVD and 2 videos and swapped a Palm PDA and a cookery book for some clothing that sister had bought in bulk from ebay.

When we got home we put DD to bed for a nap and I went to the summer fare at the school on my own and it's a good job I did! For £10.50 I got :
    - 2 tops for me (both from Dorothy Perkins)
    - 2 good quality pants for OH
    - a new handbag for me (the clasp has broken on my now old one which will be recycled into something else now)
    - a kids "Toy story 2" rucksack for DD
    - 3 cushions (I'll recover and put on DD's bed)
    - 16 videos (4 for £1 - mostly horror and ones I've wanted to see but the best bit is that there are lots of Harrison Ford ones :D)
    - 2 jars of cooking sauce (20p each)
    - packet of pasta in sauce (10p)
    - 2 small bottles of cherryade
    - a packet of smelly (3 bottles and 3 bathbombs)
    - a giant cuddly dog

I took my mum and nanna a lettuce each as I'm trying to clear some room for my carrots and spring onions. For tea we had "Ploughmans Lunch" and spent the night watching Live8

Sunday : made our "wardrobe" - only one rail though (for now ;)), more washing, dishes and alot of prep stuff for the freezer which is now bursting :D We had roast lamb shoulder with mash and mixed veg for dinner. Then I packed up all my ebay listings which had finished ready to post this morning.

Monday : No washing yet as it is raining. 11 ebay parcels dispatched and associated feedback etc done. 1 lot of dishes done. DD to and back from nursery and some old style fun of splashing in the puddles on her way home  Hoovered the bedrooms/bathroom and I've fixed a huge ripped area of wallpaper in DD's room which she did Saturday night. Just about to do another batch of dishes (grill pan and roasting tin from yesterday) and then I'll be working on ebay stuff again as I have items that finish in about an hour (current bids come to £19+ :j on just 8 items!). I also need to make a cheesecake (got to find the recipe as well) as it OH's birthday today so we'll be having a fry up for tea with cheesecake as his birthday cake :drool::drool: Off to that never ending pile of dishes.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Finally sealed the last quarter of the conservatory floor this morning, ready for tiles. (it's nearly done, it's nearly done :j :j :j .....and then I shall get the dining room back - still currently full of floor tiles & other assorted stuff)
Yesterday we had turkey breast joint cooked in the slow cooker, so plenty left for tonight's dinner too. :D
For lunch ds & I just had leftover sausage casserole from the freezer which was very nice. :D
    1 lot of washing done.
Just realised I have booked ds in to do 2 things in 2 different places tomorrow afternoon, so I have got some phone calls to make in a minute to sort things out :o:o:o

Well I gather from other peoples posts that rain is on its way! So washing will have to dry old style on an airer. Have made some more lemonade and that is now chilling and will be ready for straining tonight when I get in. The Croft Mills catalogue turned up today and yes Queenie you're right, quite an interesting writing style that guy has! :rotfl: Shame you have to send off for the samples tho! Will send off for the wadding asap. Cut up another 3 of oh's white work shirts, just the ones that are a bit tight around the collar now. Got 3 craft/cooking magazines complete with free gifts (card set, spatula and a pattern) for £1.60 from our market.

Well going to put some chicken pieces on in the slow cooker now and then get off to work! Don't forget to put your feet up Lillibet! Have a lovely day everyone!

Can I have a hug? One of the women at work has just been bragging about the £250 she spent last week on a designer handbag. Also one of the gPs I work for has spent £500 on clothes last week and also £250 on a handbag. If I had been in earshot I would have pointed out that at £750 that is only £50 less than they pay me for working here........... as it is £250 is £100 more than my monthly food budget. I am now feeling very sad and angry (ther are other things going on here as well which are making me WELL SNAPPY!!!!!).................. do you think i should scratch her posh car? :D

If she wants to spend her money on that then that's fine but I don't think she should brag about it to people who have been denied a pay rise and had their christmas bonus (a massive £100 each) scrapped last year due to the practice "not being able to afford it" - yeah right...........
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

OK, all done with Hubbys chest of drawers (plus 2 in the base of the bed & 3 Ikea storage carton thingies). Get this.........55 T Shirts:eek:! One man, 55 T shirts!! I ask you:confused:??!! It's indecent! Most of them were old, stained, frayed etc & he was saving them for gardening, decorating, slobbing around in etc etc. OK, half a dozen for this maybe. But 55?! And that isn't incudling his work polo shirts! He will no doubt go nuts when he finds out what I have done but they are now down to a slightly more reasonable 25 which at least all fit into the available space:p. And I can always blame the hormones/nesting instinct:D Hardly any in suitable condiiton for going out in so will still need to purchase a couple for "best" wear.
And socks! Why oh why was he keeping them in 6 different places when he has a "sock drawer"?? Please, someone expalin the logic of this to me? And why keep sopcks when they are more hole than sock? They can't be comfortable like that, surely:confused:

Just his wardrobe left but I think I'll leave that until the end of the week, I need time to recover & build up my resolve again :rotfl:

Rage in eden, I wouldn't feel mad - feel smug that you have the sense not to spend so much money on clothes and bags! I'm delighted because when I took the baby for his MMR I found £1 in vouchers in a magazine! Didn't feel bad about ripping them out because there was only an advert on the other page! Met a neighbour in the doctors, however, who asked me was I feeling better, seems OHhas been telling the neighbourhood about the hangover! :rotfl:

Lillibet: can you make patchwork out of them :D i know what you mean about the "sock drawer" - i think it's called the sock chair/floor/end of the bed in my house..... and yet if i leave anything lying around - oh lordy!!!!

Henhog: I'm just annoyed about the gall of the woman. On the one hand the docs are pleading poverty and cancelling our bonus and saying we can't have new chairs (despite that fact that some of us have been told by Health & Safety to get them) and then on the other hand they are all getting new cars etc. I am in a very vexed mood today and may be switching the radio from radio 4 to classic fm in an effort to calm myself down.

Rage, henhog is right, don't feel mad feel smug.... and go back to health and saftey about the chairs! I hate health and safety it makes the management in my job mental and you can't do anything without spouting rubbish about risk assessments!

But.... I am not adverse to using them to help make a point.... or at least get my own way :D

Oh and Henhog, there is no longer a stash of magazines in our GP surgery.... bonkers!
