HOW MUCH ON A HANDBAG
I like clothes and nice accessories, but that is just ridiculous - plus I bet she will just look the same as all her friends - no indiviual style lol!
being sent home due to the rioting in Edinburgh city centre. Office has closed now and my route home is cut off so going to hide at a friends house. All of a sudden hating the G8 sumit.
have a good evening everyone. Not sure if I'll be back online for a while - depends if they shut the office all week!!! (I wish :rotfl: )r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Now this would not have happened if my foot hadn;t been broken and I could have attended - any rioting would have got a swift slap on the back of the legsTalk about detracting from the "message" - this does not bode well for Thursday at all......................

Well it was under supervision of OH but they were all really good. I couldn't believe how good everything tasted and cost !!!!!! all really.
My next challenge is Bakewell Tart, apparently OH thinks it will be a test of everything i've supposedly learned in the past few weeks. Gulp.
Ended up at ANOTHER french market on Saturday, two in two days. This one was in Ramsbottom. Bought some Garlic, olives stuffed with garlic and anchovies and a wild boar sausage. Budget well and truly blown now. but worth it.0 -
Hello all.
Blimey - this thread gets so long now-a-daysBut I'm glad because I like reading this OS diary. Hmmmm don't know about PRAVS. I think I'll stick to being an Ol'Styler. And I know what you mean about going on about OS to friends who think you're nuts as they don't know about Old Style (MSE) per se.
I was woken (for a change) early by rumbustious boys, so had DS1's bed changed pre 9am. It's pouring so the towels that were left on the line yesterday are still there, cos they won't get any wetter and they can wait until I have space to bring them in and dry themThus, behind with the laundry. Cleaned at mum's all morning, then did quick mystery shopping job. Sport's day cancelled so came home and hoovered downstairs, including moving all furniture. It's amazing how fast you can do something if you want to finish it before DS2 wakes up
Did beef in slow cooker yesterday so will be slicing and reheating that in gravy for tea. Didn't get round to making mushroom soup yet so have 6lbs of mushrooms in fridge awaiting treatment - must do it tonight.
Nearly forget - spent a bit of dosh on myself today too. I needed a floppy summer hat (for France, not much chance of using it in this country) as I have PLE and decided to buy a proper cotton one that can be folded away. I had a nice straw one last year which I put away ON TOP of everything else. Mr TM opened door and threw something heavy on top of it! Thanks, money well spent then. So I spent £14 on a hat. It will last years and I so do not do baseball caps, I'm more of an English Rose than a chav
OK, off to slice beef and mushrooms and anything else that gets under my knife0 -
Oh, forgot about the damsons. Was it you Rage?
What about Damson Gin? Like sloe gin, but with Damsons, obviously - !!!!!! the skins of perhaps 8-10 and place in a bottle of gin. Leave for at least a couple of weeks, preferably a lot longer. Yummy sweet drink. You could also put it in fancy bottles and give as gifts.
I've never made it myself (yet) but I worked with someone who did and brought it in at Xmas. I can't drink straight gin, but this was something else. Can't be sure of the number of damsons either, you might want to google and look it up. Seems to remember he just had a few at the bottom of the bottle (or was that a few colleagues looking through the bottom of the bottle)
