  • Tried to be OS on all fronts today - I bought a Lakeland electric bulk yogurt maker on Sunday at a car boot sale, this was £2.00 so a great saving on the £19.99 they cost new BUT I confess that I wasn't looking for one, I was happy using a flask, but this is easier to clean and I don't have to heat the milk first. So it got tried out and works perfectly.
I picked rhubarb from the garden and cooked it with our strawberries to make a topping, and hope to freeze some of this with the next batch.
Dinner was all left overs from the Sunday roast...beef with cauliflower cheese and bubble and squeak and left over HM strawbeery cheesecake - out of interest does anyone know how you can re-heat medium rare roast beef and still have it pink when it's hot? I just can't seem to do this.

It was an ebay listing day today so lots of weighing and measuring...and turning the living room into a tip while it gets done

our 18yo DD set off on a post A level jolly to london today so we have the house to ourselves as our DS is staying on at his uni flat for another 3 weeks ( laying in supplies already, he can really EAT) OH said for old times sake lets go to the curry house that we used to go to when we first met 27 years ago so that's tomorrow dineer sorted out, I don't think that it will be beef madras and bhuna keema, drinks and tips for £5.00 any more but it's an opportunity not to be missed - and I make up for the extravagance later in the week

Rage: just seen your lunchtime post. Wait a week or so then, next time you see the silly woman with her handbag, just drop in a casual 'oh, that's nice. I saw those in the sale at xxx last week. You must be so pleased to have got it for £100 instead of £250'. Just watch her turn green as she thinks she's missed out on a real bargain.........................

Not a very OS day as husband and I have spent the whole day at home with a sickness bug and my wonderful parents have stepped in and done the school runs. Unfortunately it's also been Husband's birthday but neither of us fancied the HM birthday cake  However, it's gone in the freezer and I'm glad to report that we're both feeling half human again now!

Sorry to hear about your day, but glad you're feeling better now. What a rotten birthday, though.

Thanks Chipps. Husband is off on a 3 day miniature making course in Wiltshire tomorrow and he had a lovely letter back from the first order he sent out last week so it's not all been bad. Everything should be back to normal tomorrow.

Ooooh, err!!! Poor pair!! ((((get well soon hugs))))

I wouldn't have thought of freezing the cake, so I think that deserves a :money:

apprentice ... enjoy your curry tomorrow!

rozza/dorry: :rotfl: hope your identity crisis is sorted out by tomorrow ;)

Our American supper went down a storm. The boys really thought they were Kings of the Midden :D:D :rotfl: Packed lunches are now ready for the morning and while we were at it, we cooked up a new-to-us recipe for curry sauce and made a beef curry from l/overs for tomorrows supper :D

The muffins were a tad disappointing, but I'm going to experiment with the recipe during the week until I get it "right" :o
