Just remembered a question I was going to ask...
Anyone any ideas how to get sellotape residue off cushion floor? The new kitchen flooring I bought last week was taped into a roll so I could carry it home but the fella used sellotape. I only got around to hoovering it properly last night and I noticed 2 big sticky stripes on the floor with dust stuck to them (that will teach me to put the pile of washing straight on the floor!) Any ideas as I'll be tackling it tomorrow morning before IL's arrive tomorrow night :eek:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
OH has been found eating curry at 7a.m. from slow cooker!
I wondered why I always seeemed to have less than I thought that I had cooked."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

See now that would explain a lot - I ALWAYS complain to OH that there never seems as much as there should be when I turn the slow cooker off at 7 am - perhaps he is sleep snacking!!Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0

Cushion floor - it has a shiny surface right?
Maybe a tiny bit of WD40 on a cloth and rub or tiny bit of baby oil on cloth.
I've used both of these for getting rid of sticky marks (test somewhere inconspicuous(sp?) first though0 -
Re sticky marks on floor - try anything that has oil of orange in it - Flash and Mr Muscle and loads of others do this type of cleaner!"This site is addictive!"

morning campers:D
today so far I've got one load of washing, done, fed the 2yo and used the processor to make breadcrumbs and grate 2.5kg of chededar for the freezer.
i have a batch of everyday biscuit dough chilling in the fridge (thankyou queenie:j ) for snack time for 2yo later this afternoon.
I'm making baked cod with lemon and garlic for tea, with new pots and vegetables and chocolate ppud for afters.
I too have a pile of ironing resembling mount everest, and 15 items to pack for posting from ebay sales., they're all hornby trains and have to be packed really carefully to cope with the not so delicate postal service and take ages to do.
S I suppose I really should get on and stop the waffle, see you all later:wave:0 -
Morning everyone.
Got washing on, but it's raining so drier her we come. I have an option for economy dry which means it tumbles with no heat - uses the heat from the air, so not so bad. Mind you, it's freezing here - sorry, but the heating is on!!
Made about 4 gallons of mushroom soup last night - guess what's for lunch D Have to decide what to do with the other 5 lbs of mushies now - any ideas?
Need to do a bit (lot?) of cleaning but DS2 likes to help...hmmmm! Picked up a mystery shopping job in town this afternoon, whilst DS2 is at nursery, so can claim for mileage and parking and visit the market at the same timeOther than that, I need to decide what to put on for tea - my slow cooker beckons......

Good morning
Washing is out - nice to have some sunshine today!
Ds is moaning his way through maths, can't blame him; I never liked probability either.
This afternoon we have swimming booked & he will spend time with his friend, so he is looking forward to that.
I have nearly finished clearing up the kitchen - between looking on here & sorting out probabilities0 -

At 10am this morning I've got to take DD in to school late for a "Reception Class Induction"! Apparently this involves finding out how reception classes work and meeting her new teacher with the opportunity to purchase school uniform. Since the uniform for the nursery was £8 per item I'm not looking forward to the cost - Asda here I come!
Don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere but ask the school if they have a 2nd hand uniform sale before the new term starts. I try and get most of my DD's stuff there, paying as little as £1.50 for Summer dresses that have only been worn for about 6 weeks before they've been outgrown. I used to think it was a bit "naff" to buy stuff from them, but at the end of the day i'd rather spend the money on decent clothes for holidays and weekends than something that's going to get covered in paint and grass stains.
Having a lazy morning so far - started work at 8am and was off to school for 9am for sports day - was lovely and sunny and nice to get some fresh air. Little one fell asleep on the way home so popped into the farmers market to have a browse but it was so busy I could hardly get the pushchair through the door.
Made some savoury mince in my slow cooker last night so will make some pastry later and make some pies up for tomorrow, need to make some quiches too as DD2 is off on her school trip and has requested fresh homemade rolls, mini quiches, carrot and cucumber sticks, strawberries and a homemade choc chip cookie or 6.
Finished DD1's tudor costume last night, complete with bum rolls for padding and cardboard jewelery covered in sequins, she was mightly impressed this morning.
Have a good day all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
