Does anyone know how to get hold of a Gingerbread Club??

bellaboy-i signed up by ringing them-i dont know how to post links on here, not worked it out yet as I am a bit slow but the website is gingerbread.org.uk-they ask you to donate some money but you do not have to.I have to update my details on there as I have moved and lost my membership I also think it has expired. So have a look at it and see what happens.

Just want to say well done to all the lone parents, mums and dads on here for doing a fantastic job.We all know how hard it is,but also how rewarding it is.I was lucky enough to lived my life when i was younger-not the greatist but partied hard, had some holidays so am not missing the going out bit.I love every second of being with my son at home but i worry that I am over protectived which is good but I think i mummy him to much.In my eyes my son is and will always be my baby, his nearly 6 and has no male figure in his life.He sees my brother every now and then and his father only wants contact when he isnt with a woman.I feel this is unfair on my son as it confuses him and upsets him as he doesnt understand why his daddys not around for so long then is-worse he makes all these promises and does a disapearing act every year b4 his bday.I usually guilt buy as my mum cannot afford to buy or send him anything from abroad,so he only gets pressies from me and about 2 small pressies from my brother. Now ive fallen out woth my brother so doubt my brother will be coming to see us as he said he is fed up with me moaning and me being moody which is part of my depression.Luckily my sons teacher is a male and my sons doing really well at school.Ive just got him to start football which is saturday mornings so have to be up early then and stand in the park for 2 hours(it was freezing last saturday-i could not feel my feet as they were frozen).

The one thing i find hard is the school run-It would be nice if someone could take my son to school just one morning a month just for a change as I have sleep problems so am so tired but i am use to it now and its part of being a mum.xx

I can relate to this in a big way. I am working until the small hours of the morning and then coming home and waking up after only a few hours sleep to do the school run I look half asleep every time I take my kids to school. What must these people be thinking about me lol. I would give anything for someone to give me one day off doing it just to grab a bit of sleep.

    Hi all!

We should start our own club, we wouldnt be short of members!

I am a single parent too. I have an 11yr old child, and separated from my ex husband/childs father 6 years ago.

It has been a struggle, but you manage to cope. Juggling money is the hardest thing. My ex husband paid me for the first 6 months then decided to stop - I have chased the CSA for 5 years now and have got no where. I used to dread the six weeks holiday before my parents retired. I work full time and would have to put him in a holiday club which cost the earth.

My child is extremely loving, protective and very grown up for his age. Its almost like he is the man of the house..bless him! He hasnt seen his father for some years now, despite me trying to encourage it since I think a child should not be pushed away from seeing a parent just because their relationship didnt work.

My son is what keeps me going - if I hadnt got him I could have quite easily checked out on a number of occasions. I owe a lot to him!

    Welcome Piggybank !

Yes,Diamond, i totally agree with you esp since DD is a fussy eater & a vegetarian(except when we go to Mc Donalds lol) so i usually end up cooking 2 different meals

  • I sometimes wish my now fussy teenagers would sometimes think that their mum would like to have a meal cooked for her for a change , or even like to eat the kind of foods she ate before they became so fussy . One won't eat anything with onions , one won't eat carrots ect. We used to when their dad lived here and we were married eat very varied diet , chilli, spag bol casseroles ect Blooming kids lol
Makes me laugh cus at their dads his G/F does nothing arround the house he waits on her the kids say . She stays in pyjamas all day !!!! If I could be so lucky I work all week as a childminder and at the weekend do housework , ironing and cooking .Wouldn't mind but when he lived here ex did nothing to help !!!
So what are we all doing this weekend ! Mine are at their dads so I am getting house work sorted today so I can have Sunday as a ME day .

I've been doing my clicks while DD watched tv,now we're just about to make apple muffins-yum !
She's going to a roller disco with her friend this afternoon-not cheap at a fiver inc skate hire but it gets her out the way for a few hours & wears her out. She's taking her own drink & snacks tho!
Tonight i'm babysitting for a collegue-she doesn't pay much as she's a single mum too but every little helps lol

Well I have spent most of the week working on my assignment for University and worrying about that has kept me wide awake most nights but its handed in now so I can take a bit of a breather. Tidy up today, sort uniforms etc as I will be working tonight and tomorrow night til the small hours of the morning. Its all go go go!

Diamond, we are so much alike. I wish for somebody to make the breakfast, dinner, tea or packed lunches for a change. Oooh the sheer bliss.

My kids dont see there dad at all so I am very much a single parent but as much as I'm having a moan. The satisfaction of being a mum far outweighs this.

    Anyhoo, respect to you all.
