When did you receive interest from the closed account? I requested closure on Tuesday, RS disappeared from the app today, but haven't received any interest yet.

Thanks - good to know it's not just me. I was wondering if I'd entered the wrong account details and my interest has been sent to some random other person!

Other than that, closing/re-opening is fairly hassle-free, in case anyone else was thinking of trying it. Not the fastest (Tuesday to Thursday) but that's not a major issue unless they suddenly withdraw the new issue. Previous issues have been available for about a month.

They've all been available for a full calendar month I believe, all pulled the last working day of the month they're offered.

Yes, and notably they all have a fixed maturity date, in this case 26/2/2027, instead of being an exact year after opening. So no point in delaying opening until the end of the month, if there's anyone who was thinking of playing that game.

Edit: update - interest now received, a couple of hours after the account closed. 10p more than what my spreadsheet predicted, but I was basing my calculations on equal-length months so there's bound to be a bit of a discrepancy.

I cleared mine down to 0 late yesterday before submitting a request for closure. Expecting the RS to be fully closed some time tomorrow with interest added to my MPlus account, as requested.

Can I check what the current situation is with Darlington reg saver withdrawals? I have a nominated account set up but when I try a withdrawal it says I don't then trying to click to add one just gets an error messsage.

Their online bits seem a bit flaky round this functionality - just tried to amend the nominee account reference on my account - error.

Virgin RS closure

I'm thinking about closing my RS and opening the newly available one, but before I do just want to double-check the process - am I right in thinking I need to empty the account so the balance is zero, provide the sort code and account number of the RS, and then put the account I want the payments to be made to as my Virgin current account?

I'm keen not to mess this one up!
