It is rubbish, but clause 24.2 unfortunately may cover them here
24. Notices
24.1. You will be taken to have received a notice:
• By post 72 hours after we have sent it to you (regardless of a class of post).
• By email the day the email or secure message is sent to any email address you have
given us for that purpose;
• By secure message via Online Banking or via the Mobile App, the day a message is
sent.
24.2. If we accidentally fail to:
• Send to you a communication intended for our investors generally or a category of
investors of which you are one; or
• Display a notice at any of our offices; this will not make the notice invalid.
24.3. Except where we are under a legal requirement to do so, we do not have to give you personal notice (in circumstances when we would normally do so), whether as a result of
these Conditions or otherwise, if we have a good reason to believe that you will not receive the
notice.If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.
N.B. (Amended from Forum Rules): You must investigate, and check several times, before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my content, as nothing I post is advice, rather it is personal opinion and is solely for discussion purposes. I research before my posts, and I never intend to share anything that is misleading, misinforming, or out of date, but don't rely on everything you read. Some of the information changes quickly, is my own opinion or may be incorrect. Verify anything you read before acting on it to protect yourself because you are responsible for any action you consequently make... DYOR, YMMV etc.0 -
Hanley online smart saver
I opened this account this morning as a new customer and it gave me the option to fund immediately with a card payment.
I was then given an application reference while informed my account application is being completed.
welcome pack to follow by post to allow online access.0 -
6.3%, so it was one of the better ones in that most dropped by the full 0.25% or worse.
"sincerely apologise if the opening sentence of our previous email did not come across as clear or well-written."
Should of is not a matter of perception, and is the latest in a long line of email mistakes they have had to apologise for. That it was contained in an email that should have been received weeks ago takes the biscuit. We have no evidence that anyone received the notification on time.
Ultimately I doubt the ombudsman would do anything if anyone were to take it that far; withdrawals are allowed and clearly defined. It would be a bigger issue if the likes of Dudley did similar (as they temporarily allowed withdrawals because of the reduction, but to access the money outside of that you would have to close the account.)

I never got the original notification. Nor did I get the "may not of got" one, and I haven't picked up the drop to 6.3 any other way. My account has definitely dropped to 6.3. Complaint coming on.

Hanley BSThe main problem with this response from Hanley is that it contravenes their own T&Cs — which state that "If we reduce the interest on your account, we will write to you 14 days before we make the change."

Hanley BSNot really; their own T&Cs for this specific product state "
If we reduce the interest on your account, we will write to you 14 daysbeforewe make the change."0 -
I've just reached 6k in my issue 5 Melton RS, I think I'm correct in thinking the interest rate drops for amounts over 6k have I got that right if so, I'll stop funding it now.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
To keep things fair, they should implement the changes 14 days from sending the email

No big deal, but ... the eligible Postcodes appear to be missing from the end of the Vernon RS details on the Page One listing.
p.s. just wanted to say many thanks for this RS thread, I find it to be a superb reference source and also to be both highly educational and informative.

I've spotted what happened, it was a data migration issue.
When I moved the listings into excel I used the split text to columns functionality on all the listings as a job lot and set a colon as the delimitator. The Vernon listing originally included a colon before the postcodes so it had split this listing into 3 columns rather than two, therefore when it was copied across to p1 of this thread the postcodes weren't carried across as they were in the third column.
This has now been corrected.
