personally, I definitely didn't receive any email notification of a Hanley rate change - I would have read about it here, so I knew that way.
I have just tried logging on to Hanley and it worked fine for me.

Hanley asked me to email a photo of my driving licence or passport for ID purposes, so grammar is probably not their most pressing training requirement.

I definitely didn't receive notice from HEBS but it was posted here. I have replied to their email querying how they can determine that retrospective notification is consistent with the product term for notice of '14 days before we make the change'. Will see what they come back with.
Given the online page for this account was updated recently, around the time of the interest rate change I believe, this strikes me that someone in the office reviewed the terms of this account and realised they 'may not of' been on the ball with sending out the notifications…

Anyone else’s balance showing as Restricted on the home page? The correct balance is viewable via the details or transactions tab. It’s the RS 6 in my case, last paid into in late September. Adcock and RS 5 are unaffected.

Mine looks fine. I've been funding every month.

I have done this route before (matured reg saver) and they closed my current account instead with no chance of getting it back. They did pay a rather high sum of compensation but I am without current account now and do not want another hard search for applying again. Although, they did say they will remove the search but in the end they didn't close the matuerd saver account either, so I would be careful.
Be prepared for it go go wrong via this form. Better call, chat or go to branch.

Hanley (HEBS) reissued 1 year online smart saver TAR10…
Is this available to those of us who already have one of the previously issued accounts from last November? Or can you only hold one or the other (and not both)?

Your answer can easily be found on the summary sheet on the Hanley website.
To open a savings or mortgage account you must be aged 18 or older, UK resident, and permanently reside within the UK. Only 1 Online Smart Saver per customer is permitted.

I can't see the benefit of refreshing a variable rate account as the Nationwide Flex is

(Two) e-mail(s) from Hanley
Dear Saver,
Following a review of your account we have identified that you may not of previously received the following email in relation to your variable savings account.
"Not of…" ???? Don't they have anyone who can write English?
Apparently not. Their terms and conditions aren't much better, considering they switch between "was" and "were" when explaining AER and gross interest:
AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded once each year.
Gross is the rate of interest if interest were paid and not compounded each year.4
