Do you know if this applies to deposits at weekends (i.e. sent on Saturday, received on Saturday, shows on Monday and interest is accruing from Saturday)?

Suffolk Building Society 4.9pc for £300 matures 30th April 27
pushing interest into 2027-28 tax year. First of 27-28's
applied for both branch and online.
For online applications, Suffolk withhold online access until the account is set up. Weird I know but this is how they operate.

Do you have to give them proof that you are saving up for a new home? Or can anybody open these?

Hanley online saver
Yes during the application for the regular saver as a new customer it gave the option to fund immediately by debit card which I did and I then received an application reference thanking me for applying and saying they are completing the application.
A further email saying welcome pack in post with ID to enable online access.Welcome to Hanley Economic!

I opened one and was not asked for any proof. For info the same was true for Principality and Coventry.

I had the email pack yesterday but COP attempt with my Bank didn’t recognise the account. Tried again this morning and COP check is now ok so have funded. Just waiting for the user/id in the post.

Virgin Regular Saver 3
Just posting more as an FYI
Subbmited a closure request yesterday and a few minutes ago recieved an email asking me to clear the balance down to 0 and then resubmit the request.

When I closed my RS 3 online on Tues aft it stated that the account has to have a nil balance so I transferred the money out.
New RS 5 opened earlier this morning with no issues.
