With no exit fees and a start date that ignores the March rates (assuming existing fix ends after April 1st) then it is a no-brainer to change now if the rates are better than the existing ones, especially given General Trump's manoeuvres possibly having some effects on energy prices.

Indeed. Having a fix right now (any supplier) seems a good hedge against the issues in the Persian gulf. For existing Octopus fixers who aren't on Nov V3 or Feb V6 (or the mse collective with exit fees) I would think it's worth considering Feb V7 for the 12 months stability.

LOL I hope you are on good commission!

One could also claim they are probably the second most expensive supplier with no exit fees.
If you just need electric with no exit fees they are really being put to shame!

But what price are you paying for no exit fees? Take a look at one of my earlier posts in this thread:

It's possible that our future selves will be looking back at any of these fix prices available today as 'reasonable'.

Please let's not be discussing the merits of fee or no fee here. Anyone who subscribes to this thread to see when the Octopus offerings change get notified every time.

ok. i switched last week to Feb 26 V6 but to start 8th April when my current tariff ends.

i am considering making the switch happen before April 1st to make sure i get the extra reduction on the 1st. whats peoples thoughts on whether Octopus will add the reduction if i leave till the 8th?

Surely they would be making reductions across the board on April 1st? If you are still on your old tariff for a few more days afterwards, you will get the reduction for that short period before the switch.

yes. BUT….what happens on the 8th April? it's the new tariff i am concerned with. iv'e made the switch late February but won't be actioned till the 8th April. if my switch was 8th March i would get the reduction on the new tariff on the 1st April but if the switch is 8th April will i get the reduction?

i think i'll play it save and have the switch happen in March.
