Lloyds switch offer 6 January to 3 February 2026

I opened a new current account as donor and today added three existing credit card direct debits for accounts I’ve had for years. None will pay out before 3rd of February except from the existing accounts so may not show as ‘active’ direct debits although in reality that’s exactly what they are (I think) as the cards have been in use for years paying out DD’s.
I suppose I could bring forward the card debiting dates if allowed but then it all becomes complicated as would the card companies debit the existing account as going off the current statement. My attitude is if I fail this time and IF there is another Lloyds switch offer I will be all ready for the next time!?
Or could go to the dark side and set up additionally three 30p direct debits. A 90p insurance policy. 🤔1 -
Tricky, isn't it? Without knowing the details of what data about the DD is passed to Lloyds (specifically, when was the last time it paid out) or even if this data is available for a moved DD, it's impossible to be certain in advance that they'll pass muster.Yorkshire_Pud said:I opened a new current account as donor and today added three existing credit card direct debits for accounts I’ve had for years. I think I will try the belt and braces approach with the three 30p all the while hoping they don’t pull the offer in the meantime, but then that would mean they don’t get the switch statistic. If they can wriggle out of paying on a technicality but still get the switch statistics they might be happy! I’ve done that with nationwide, Santander and Lloyds in the last year trying my luck and legitimately failing each time as I’d received incentives from all three after their specified cut off date. They got the switch I got nowt but fair enough I didn’t qualify!flaneurs_lobster said:

Just realised I switched my Halifax account in September so don't know if a switch reward was paid after 1/1/2023. I suppose I should should chance it but is there a way of finding out - would they tell me if I asked?0

My wife has gone with Plum, Moneybox & PayPal from Chase. Let's see how it goes!0

If you mean the offer that ran from july to 5 sept 2022 [there was also a later offer in november]/december it seems] then the archived list of offers, excellent resource at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6526050/an-archived-list-of-switching-offers has an archived link to that offer page [amongst many], but in essence it says it would pay out within 3 working days.
I did a halifax switch in 2021 and they paid the day after the switch, so that's consistent.0 -
September which year? Which bank paid you the switching bonus?kuepper said:Just realised I switched my Halifax account in September so don't know if a switch reward was paid after 1/1/2023. I suppose I should should chance it but is there a way of finding out - would they tell me if I asked?
There hasn't been a Halifax switch bonus since summer 2023: https://becleverwithyourcash.com/halifax-100-switching-bonus-how-existing-customers-can-claim-it-too/1 -
I have a couple of DDs I can change to the donor account today, these usually get collected on the 1st of the month. Does this give me enough time for the next collection date?
Also, can I apply now and select a switch date later than Feb 2nd?0 -
The switch takes 7 working days and must have started by the end of the offer period.Birdman2015 said:I have a couple of DDs I can change to the donor account today, these usually get collected on the 1st of the month. Does this give me enough time for the next collection date?

My OH downgraded a CL ... Next day tried to open a new CL on desk top.
After several 'Sorry somethings gone wrong', she was advised to try on the app.
Got through the application on the app easily enough.. only for it to be declined!
Will try again this week but concerned that a decline in the system isn't going to undo quickly or easily. One of Lloyds' random hissy fits?0
