Lloyds switch offer 6 January to 3 February 2026

Just had a look. I keep paper statements for just this kind of event. July 2025… it just says PAYMENT REJECTED - Funds returned to account ********. DD cancelled. Looking at it again, it does seem suspicious. Either a scam site or the company has ceased. A lot of these cheap DD’s out there of course.flaneurs_lobster said:
Don't make too much effort, was just hoping it was a few years ago - kind of niggle you don't need when up against a time constraint. Might mitigate by adding another couple of quick DDs, probably utter overkill but this is a very generous switch bonus.UKX69 said:
Think it was last summer some time, can’t remember exactly. First time this has happened to a DD transaction. I’ll look back and see if I can find them.flaneurs_lobster said:

Just for info: I set up two separate 30p DD’s with my account at NatWest a while back over a weekend with the intention of switching. The DD’s were set up on the Monday with the money taken on the Thursday, but by the following Monday I had a message from NW that the money was unable to be credited so was refunded to my account and DD’s cancelled. Didn’t follow up and just let it drop. Collection company not reputable?brainiack said:Anyone who's already signed up to the switch, can you select the actual switch date? The direct debit timescale is quite tight, and the closing date is 3rd Feb, some of my DDs don't leave till 1st Feb so would try to select a switch date after this if possible - or are you given what you're given?
Might have to set up the 30p DDs instead - how quick do these pay out? The website says around 5 working days which is fine, but again want to see the DDs paid out first before applying for the switch just in case.
Thanks
@UKX69 - when was this please?2 -
Showing on the payer account before first payment can be a function of the bank's interface - some don't show them. Name your bank and someone will know if they show DDs before they've paid out for the first time.think I might do same and set up something else in case. I set up a 30p dd on Wednesday and it’s still not showing in my account yet ( some people saying it showed in account day after being set up )0 -

So when you said "I set up two separate 30p DD’s" did you specifically use www.30pence.co.uk/?UKX69 said:

would like to get the bonus if I can so will be cautious and do more than need. But as I’m still waiting for Lloyds to confirm my account it’s all a bit up in the air at the moment 😕Which bank are you using as your donor? Natwest/RBS do not show DDs until they pull and there are others as well. Mine was visible in Santander 2 days after being set up. I see no indication of a pull yet, but that could be normal. Edit: IIRC TSB do show them when set up before being paidI have a couple of other DDs set up on my account, but I'm not able to get them to pull before the offer ends. I'm open to suggestions of backup options (already using Paypal and Plum), but I may just have to risk it. If the 30p DD issue was ongoing I think we'd have seen a lot more about it. So possibly just a one-off accounting issue that caused a batch of DDs to bounce back. Also Stripe would have shut down the account by now if there were persistent issues. Payment returned means no revenue for them or the website maintainer, and a service is being provided.0 -
I think I did. It doesn’t say on the statement.flaneurs_lobster said:

I hadn’t used this type of DD before and was a bit hesitant to be truthful as some of them did smack of being scammy. So either it was as you say, a blip or NW being cautious.masonic said:Clare43 said:

I'm told it's not allowed........
Also handy for sending 1p CC payments from PP1 to PP2.2 -
Good shout. I actually have a dormant second "selling" account, which back in the day was all above board to allow fees to be charged on eBay sales without preventing the personal account from receiving fee free payments. I'll have a look into whether I could repurpose it.flaneurs_lobster said:

I already hold a CL account as a sole account. Can I just double check that if I switch a joint account over, I’ll still qualify for the incentive? If so, once it’s set up I’ll probably just close the sole account down (though presumably operating both would mean 12 cinema tickets a year).0
