Good Energy Heat Pump
No peak penalty, the goal is to maximize usage 4-7am and 13-16.

Is that available to those without a heat pump? - Available to everyone?

It was, one of a few that clearly states that EV/Heat Pump was optional.
Tbh, if you look at all these EV/Heat Pump tarriffs most of them "allow" unless it's clearly stated that they require specific charger which they control. Heat Pump tarriffs are fine, they're not going to ask you to send photos, they won't send somebody to check..
And EV - could be an ebike, escooter, remote car for a £10.. Heat Pump could be air con, tumble drier (with heat pump) or even fridge 😅

Further to my query last week about the Red Amber & Green time slots after we change the clocks to BST at the end of March, I received the following reply by email to my WhatsApp question of EDF:
Hello Chris,
Thank you for your message. Regarding the FreePhase Dynamic tariff, the Red, Amber, and Green time slots are not fixed all year round. Similar to your current E7 tariff, the time slots do adjust with the change between GMT and BST. This means the times will shift by an hour during British Summer Time, just like your current cheap rate hours do.If you decide to switch, you can expect the dynamic pricing periods to reflect the seasonal time changes accordingly.
If you have any more questions or would like assistance with switching, please let me know.
Best regards,

That's very interesting, if true. It would mean red would become 5-8pm BST and green would be midnight to 7am BST, which would be nice. But I don't believe it. In particular, it makes no sense to misalign the red pricing with peak demand, which doesn't shift by an hour when the clocks change.

That sounds like absolutely nonsense Why on earth would they set it up like that. Two options, customer service is incompetent or EDF are incompetent full stop.

I strongly suspect the
This sounds like the EDF agent who replied is simply unfamiliar with how Economy 7 operates vis-a-vis its time windows - however I think otherwise all the agent is saying is that the FreePhase tariff's Red/Amber/Green periods simply adhere to UK civil time (be that GMT or BST as applicable).
There is zero suggestion anywhere in the information about FreePhase, in the T&Cs or anywhere else on the web that it does anything 'clever' or peculiar other than merely follow the prevailing time across the country.0 -
Economy 7 tariffs typically move when the clocks change as that is how it had to be done historically, with mechanical time switches that could not recognise we change the clocks twice a year. It was probably also seen as reasonable enough to run the cheap rate an hour later in summer when the spike in demand at breakfast time is much lower than in the depths of winter.
Many E7 users still have old meters.
This is different, as the tariff can only be taken up if the customer has a smart meter.

FWIW I've seen exactly the same misinformation spouted by Octopus CS about their Go tariff in years gone by. For some reason people seem to confuse themselves over daylight savings time and then say the opposite of what they mean.
