Aren't the unit rates higher on the V2 tariff?

Wow, standing charge increased by 4.3p in my region (EMids). Seems almost as if they are hiking in advance of the government adjustments, which presumably they'll need to pass on. I'm glad I got in just before this.

Formulae currently showing haven't changed - presumably, they will come April 1st?
They've added the following to the Freephase FAQ re. SCs:
Freephase 'service fee' ?!

A zero service fee that probably won't stay zero forever. But won't increase before 1st July.

What additional services do EDF provide for the dynamic tariff that they don't provide on other tariffs and which isn't covered by the SC?
EDF the Ryan Air of Energy companies.

In fairness, Agile Octopus has premium SC today, EDF has not yet elected to do the same.

48 different prices per 24 hour period.
That is the service you get that you don't get on many other tariffs.
They have to administer that and it may have additional costs that they would like to recover.in the future but they don't at the moment.

Three different prices in the case of FreePhase, but they need to set those prices daily based on (presumably) the N2EX auction based on 24 hourly wholesale prices.

When I check the Freephase Dynamic v2 (North West) it is showing me:
FreePhase Dynamic 12m v2
Calculated 12 Mar 2026
Green 19.74p per kWh
Amber 24.21p per kWh
Red 43.07p per kWh
Daily standing charges 47.63p per dayIf I look back on my alerts for the first version (not v2) back on that date the rates were lower.
That's what made me think the v2 tariff is more expensive ?

You need to look at the formulae, not the UR rate forecasts, which have increased due to higher wholesale prices.
