Barclays becomes less and less attractive all the time. I've banked with them since 1989 but have recently moved my main banking to Lloyds. They just seem to take away benefits and give nothing back. I'm sure the replacement to this will be very underwhelming.
By way of contrast, despite in no way meeting the financial requirements (static £30 in current account, no savings) I applied for an upgrade to Premier Banking earlier this week for no reason other than wanting free Apple+ TV. Was granted inside a day.
I wonder if they will realise you don’t fit the criteria and reverse the decision?  Might give it a try myself.
Reversion is always a possibility, frankly I'm surprised that I wasn't bounced immediately. You'd think that they might check before generating a new Premier card which is apparently in the post.

Currently I don't use Barclays for any services so not a worry if it gets the heave-ho, at least I've managed to watch the first two episodes of Alien: Earth on my new big telly.
Without being boastful, I do earn enough to qualify for this account and signed up for it a while ago. However, earlier this year I was downgraded to a normal Barclays account as I wasn't paying my salary into it. Now I do standing orders back and forth to keep them happy.

If you're not paying enough money into the account, it'll get downgraded after 12 months.
Out of interest @jbrassy when you say "standing orders back and forth"... Do you still pay your salary in, or did you move that elsewhere and just use a standing order into Barclays to satisfy them?

I did a switch to Barclays last year and have Premier. Useful for Apple TV and I also pay for Avios Rewards. I did move my salary to them but I'd rather move it back elsewhere as I don't want to do all my banking with them...
My salary is paid into a First Direct account. However, on the day I get paid, I have a standing order transferring money into Barclays, and another standing order transferring it back to FD.

On paper this is a good change, as we'll be able to track/redeem Barclaycard credit card cashback in the same app and account as for the Barclays debit card cashback, not on a separate web-based cashback account. I do hope they extend the merchants list though...

Last day to log in and redeem cashback.
I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.

I know the old scheme has just recently closed. Any clues when and where I would find the new scheme and offers? Cheers x

Doesn't seem to have launched yet, old scheme still allows existing logins but no new signups.

I hope the new scheme doesn't restrict me to a small number of 'selected' retailers. My NatWest Debit Card does this and it's useless - I never use any of the retailers listed.

The Cashback scheme is in addition to any incentives your specific product offers - be it Cashback, Hilton or Avios points, Amazon vouchers etc (although not all these cards are currently supported).
