Just received email from Barclaycard
We’re relaunching our Barclaycard Cashback Rewards service in the app and changing the name to Barclays Cashback Rewards. Keep an eye on your inbox for more news and updates soon.
Wonder what other changes are in the pipeline beyond the name change ?

I wonder if the rewards will be better or worse.

Barclays becomes less and less attractive all the time. I've banked with them since 1989 but have recently moved my main banking to Lloyds. They just seem to take away benefits and give nothing back. I'm sure the replacement to this will be very underwhelming.1

I got the same email.
I don't bank with Barclays, I just have the card mainly for overseas travel.
In the few years that I've had it, I've gained very few rewards as the companies they deal with don't interest me.
I'm not expecting great things come October when the proposed changes happen.0 -
I have a Barclaycard Rewards card, but I have not had an email.1

By way of contrast, despite in no way meeting the financial requirements (static £30 in current account, no savings) I applied for an upgrade to Premier Banking earlier this week for no reason other than wanting free Apple+ TV. Was granted inside a day.denow said:Barclays becomes less and less attractive all the time. I've banked with them since 1989 but have recently moved my main banking to Lloyds. It's not related specifically to the Barclaycard Rewards card.GeoffTF said:I have a Barclaycard Rewards card, but I have not had an email.
The announcement relates to a separate add on thing that is run by visa

It's remarkably similar to the schemes bolted on to some accounts with RBS/NatWest, Lloyds, Santander and probably others. All run by Visa and difficult to compare (even between two accounts with the same bank) since the promotions are "personalised".gt94sss2 said:

I wonder if they will realise you don’t fit the criteria and reverse the decision? Might give it a try myself.flaneurs_lobster said:
