I think I have been able to enrol. On the Barclaycard app, under 'Products and Services' then 'Find out more' then 'Barclaycard', and there was an option there to enrol.

'Products and Services' appearing as a separate mini-section on the home page, rather than as an icon in the bottom row or a quick link.

It said it might take up to 48 hours but it showed up (as if it is a separate account) after about 30 minutes.

Edit: I tried to help my father do it, and 'Products and Services' just isn't appearing as an option for him. And now that I think about it, I'm not sure it appeared for me yesterday, and now it just appears as a blank space as if it's loading (but doesn't actually load).

Update to this: when I checked the new in-app cashback today, it said I will lose access by 4 December! It had a button to re-enrol, but there are no offers showing anymore, so I have no idea what's happening.

I know that if you choose to close your account, they deactivate it after 40 days. 4 December being close to 40 days away (it is 41) can't be a coincidence. I'm wondering if they're the ones who requested it be closed, starting the 40 day timer.

    Pretty annoying, tbh.

    @SevenUpPear8,
Thanks for your guidance. The registration for Barclays Cashback Rewards is indeed accessed via the 'Products and Services' > 'Find out more' > 'Barclaycard' > Barclaycard Cashback Rewards'. What confused me here was that this last option referred to the old scheme so I had ignored it, thinking there was no option to register for the new Barclays Cashback Rewards. Upon digging deeper I found that if I followed that option I was able to register for the new scheme. Having successfully registered, selecting the 'Barclaycard Cashback Rewards' option now takes you straight to a new page where you can manage your rewards.

I think Barclays has been particularly unhelpful with this whole process. Why couldn't they have just automatically migrated all Cashback Reward members to the new scheme? The minor difference in the schemes' names doesn't help either. The initial communication back in August was virtually a tease, although it did say the original scheme would close on 1 October and to redeem any outstanding cashback. A second email in September told me to "Keep an eye on your Barclaycard or Barclays app for the relaunch of our Barclaycard cashback service in October." I kept checking the app, expecting some kind of notification but nothing appeared. During October I didn't use my Barclaycard at all because I didn't know whether I would still be earning any cashback, thus missing out on cashback on a large purchase (expensive airfares to Australia). No information on any of this was forthcoming from Barclays. Still, it seems to be sorted now. I just hope Barclays don't reduce my current cashback of 0.5%. If they do I'll probably ditch the card.

@Geoff_W you may run into the same issue I have had where after enrolling, it seems Barclays are automatically closing the Cashback Rewards account. I noticed it yesterday and re-enrolled. Today again I am getting the message that it is being closed. First time said 4 December, second time 5 December. If I re-enrolled today, I am sure tomorrow it would say it is closing on 6 December. See screenshot.

Please let us know if you have the same issue in a day or two...

I've just checked my app and currently it's not showing any notification of Cashback Rewards closure but I'll certainly keep a regular eye on it, so thanks for the heads up.

I have the same - it is academic anyway considering I don't see any offers of who to spend money with to get cashback

Are Barclaycard going to communicate with customers to explain the new arrangements? Cos cashback rewards aren't much use when you have no retailers listed to get rewards with!

Glad to know it’s not just me at least. The very first day I signed up there were some retailers, then they disappeared when I started seeing this closure message, and now I also see no retailers at all like you.

I have to imagine they’ve messed up somehow transitioning from the old scheme to this one.

I contacted Barclays via the Barclays app messaging because my Barclaycard is not linked to the "Barclays Cashback Rewards" (only my debit card is). They replied that for Premier or Blue Rewards customers only, their Barclaycard will be automatically added by the end of November 2025 because they are currently "refreshing" the rewards scheme, which is temporarily closed and will resume in November. No cashback will be earned on my Barclaycard until it reopens and my card is linked. Oh well.

I have just signed up for this.

Are we still going to get the 0.25% each month for the spend that worked outside of the previous scheme?

This doesn't make any sense to me. As I said before I was able to register using the Barclays Bank app. I've just received an email with some Halloween offers. Not very exciting ones, but they are there. So the idea that it is closed until November doesn't apply to me.

I've a long-standing Barclaycard which had never been registered on the app. I switched a bank account to Barclays, downloaded the app, and after a bit of toing and froing managed to get the Barclaycard registered as well. I've since switched the bank account out again, so I only have the Barclaycard now, but it is still live on the Barclays app.
