Seems a bit mad that it's only the 8th and we're on v4 already!

I'm on July v7 and according to mse energy club I could save £13 a year switching to this new one.
Trouble is there could be another 5 tariffs for August yet.
Then there's still September before the increase on the 1st October.
Wonder why Octopus is bringing out so many per month.

British Gas also changing tariffs almost daily. Wholesale gas has fallen in the past couple of sessions so there could be cheaper fixes appear next week.

August v6 out now.  looks cheaper than August v1 for both fuels to me
  • I found that fix last night. I'm rolling on to that when my current electric fix ends. I also requested to switch my gas immediately as it's cheaper than my current fix that ends in Nov.

I wonder why Octopus are so uncompetitive compared to other suppliers?
For the first time since joining them I am seriously considering moving away from Octopus.
For me, a low energy user, I could save 10% by switching to Fuse. They seem to have mostly decent reviews too.

Octopus know, Octo Chief said so some time ago something along the lines that only a minute % of switchers will switch again + they know switchers out easily replaced by incoming switchers lured in by £50 credit or cheaper fix with exit fees.

Octopus fixed tariffs are not really fixed because of their no exit fees.

All the other providers have heavy fees if you ever want to switch again.

You have to calculate the savings but balance in the cost of future switching.
