On the flip side, I spotted it this morning, realised it shaved a fraction of a penny off both unit rates and SC from my earlier 15m fix for our gas that runs until December, remembered that had no exit fees (and neither does the July one) and emailed them to switch. That was at mid-day. Got a reply back before 2.30pm confirming that it was all done for us. Can't argue with that!

My 12 month is ending in August so I phoned up and they are switching me to the July Fixed Tariff once my current deal expires which is kind of them.

They said to phone up in August to see if that Tariff would be any cheaper. In tge past, they can move electricity or gas on to a cheaper tariff so technically you can be on 2 fixed tariffs at once.

I would rather pay very slightly more for better customer service with Octopus. Also, they are 100% renewable energy which EDF are not. Also, I like the transparency and no exit fees of Octopus.

edf is renewable energy, my contract is zero exit fees, and only had to call them once about my DD and was sorted straight away
account is running smoothly and hope it stays that way
but i agree i was wanting to stay with octopus but they couldnt beat edf offer, thats why i keep watching out on the octopus website and post new offers on here

I`m in the same boat as you were.
    I`m fixed until Dec 9th on the15m August 2024 V1 tariff.
I`m keen to get another fix before the cap goes higher on 1st Oct.
The new July tariff would be about the same as I pay now so I don`t know whether to fix now or wait for more fixes to come out from Octopus for Aug/Sept.
    Opinions welcome.

if its more or less the same price and zero exit fees i would lock in that covers another 12 months
and any better offers comes along you have best of both worlds

My Octopus fixed tariff ends in December but the July tariff seems to be higher than my current tariff which is:
    ELECTRICITY  22.73p/kWh  Standing Charge  37.65p/day
    GAS 5.42p/kWh     Standing Charge 28.52p/day
I am thinking whether I should switch now to pay 5 months extra and lock in this new fixed tariff
Edited the prices on 10.07/25 13.41pm

i think you might have mis-typed your current gas unit price
