I assume 2 direct debits from same provider such as Plum will qualify, or must they be different providers?
It's the number of mandates which counts.

My husband and I are both Nationwide mortgage holders . A couple years back we went for the current account switch offer as individual accounts and got the bonus offered.
I am assuming ( please tell me if I am wrong ) we can open a joint account with nationwide switch two individual accounts from say Barclays and Nat west  and get the switch bonus ?

If you're trying to qualify for the joint switch offer then you only need to do one switch into your joint account (ie. only one of Barclays or NatWest needs to be switched).

I had received a switching bonus from
nationwide some time in the past, but couldn’t remember when. I had since closed the account, but switched to a new account last autumn, unsure of whether or not I’d qualify for another bonus. I didn’t, which is fine.

I know that there are people on here far more organised than I, could someone let me know the qualifying terms for the autumn switch were? If it was also since 2021, as I suspect, then I definitely won’t qualify for this new bonus (as I suspect).

If that bonus went back further, then I’d have a chance and it might be worth me switching the Halifax account being as they’re all but certain to stop the £5 reward in the coming months.

All bonuses since 2021 have had the same cut off date (which relates to when they began offering switch incentives, ignoring the pre-2020 refer-a-friend bonuses).

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Not the answer I’d hoped for, but the one I expected. I might as well hang onto Halifax for now then.

You could always try and look at your credit file and see what dates you opened your Nationwide account on.

You could try your credit reports or even submit a DSAR to Nationwide to try and figure out when you last opened an account and/or benefitted from a switch offer, but as above they all seem to have the same eligibility criteria going back to 2021

Good suggestions for the last two posts, but being as I didn’t qualify last year (I opened my account a few days after the £50 deadline 😢) I won’t bother. It’s no big deal, I haven’t actually lost anything, just haven’t been able to get some free cash. Life goes on.
