Nationwide £200 switching bonus starting 29/05/2025

@danny13579 yes, NW sent me a text when I applied to switch. It was saying that they'll let me know if we qualify for the £200 bonus...0

I have never switched a current account before but am thinking of switching to Nationwide before the 10 July.
How far into the future can you set your switch date? Presumably I could ask to set my switch date for 24 July?
I see the switch needs to be completed within 28 days. Is that from the date you apply for the switch or the switch date you ask for?

Per the terms: Your switch must complete within 28 days of opening your Nationwide account. If you’re switching into an existing account with us, it’s within 28 days of telling us you want to switch. How far into the future can you set your switch date? During the process yesterday I was offered a choice of dates, and plumped for 21 July, so I think you'd be able to select 24 July. It said to avoid dates within 3 days before or after the due dates of any direct debits being switched.1 -
Thanks all of the above I've done so should be eligible. I just seem to remember receiving a text in the past telling me that my switch was eligible. Maybe I'll get a text when it has been paid.danny13579 said:
Sorry if this is teaching granny to suck eggs:steven141 said:My switch completed on the 25th and I've met all instructions. This is into a joint account which we haven't had a bonus for but both of us have had a bonus each on a personal account. I've received no text to say that the bonus will be paid or are eligible. Do we just get it paid automatically?
The debit card transaction was made before the switch completed but after the switch was initiated will this still count?
- Were you a qualifying Nationwide member on 31st March 2025? That is you had an eligible mortgage, savings or current account on 31st March 2025.
- Did you move £1,000+ into the new or existing Nationwide account from a non-Nationwide account?
- Was your debit card spend a normal transaction, not gambling or crypto?
- Is your new or existing Nationwide account that you switched into a FlexDirect, FlexAccount or FlexPlus?
If you answered yes to all the above then you have to give them 10 days from the date you completed all the above. I assume you did so on or before 25th June? So 10 days later would be tomorrow.
It's a while since I last did a Nationwide switch offer, but from what I can remember they did sent a text message when the bonus was paid. I think they may have sent texts out during the switching process as well.0 -
Just checked and received it now. It must've come through this afternoon. No text to say. Thanks everyone.0

Thanks, my last DD out is on 21 July, so I think I will open the account on 10 July, which I believe is the last day you can apply for a switch, and set the switch date for 24 July or soonest date after.HHUK said:

Switched our soon-to-be-scrapped Santander 123Lite into a Flexdirect, went through seamlessly - in fact I have to say far more efficiently than the identical switch in the other direction a few years back. Today I've had the text confirming that the £200 will be in the account in the next 10 days or so. Very happy camper here.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Move over at least 2 Direct Debits as part of your switch
Do the 2 DD's have to have paid out before switching?
