Economy 10 & Smart Meters

Update on my meter, two days later still in dumb mode and no idea what they doing with the times. No afternoon boost, but definitely comes on 2200 to 0030, and not sure what time it comes on in the night but off peak water still on now at 1040am. And definitely off peak LC2 showing on meter with 1 o-o showing, and no movement in peak rate. That will be handy in the winter. I expect it will all get corrected when new tariff rates kick in on July 1st.
when peak rate on the screen shows 1 o-o and 2 o/o0 -
That happened to mine ,where initially I had my boost , then I lost it when my tariff changed to variable rate after my fixed came to a end
had a few other issues as well …
but I was all sorted about 6 weeks later , apparently it takes that time to be changed over their side0 -

EDF have now fitted a smart meter to replace my 2 legacy meters. The fitter was exceedingly helpful and competent !!I now have Economy 8 which provides off peak [price as yet unknown !!!!! ] electricity for 8 hours a day in 4 blocks of time: 00.00-02.00; 07.00-10.00, 16.00-17.00 and 21.00-23.00.Whilst this is not the 11 hours of off peak I had before [and the afternoon boost is rather short] the hours will suit my underfloor heating better than the dreaded Economy 7 [overnight only] [or similar EV tariffs] that I thought they were going to supply. As several people pointed out it required a 5 port meter with the 5th port supplying the off peak electricity for hot water and underfloor heating. The time of operation is still controlled by the meter rather than by me but I do have an off switch for the hot water and can presumably replace that with a timer that I control as that doesn't really need 8 hours of heating. The underfloor heating is controlled by room thermostats. All the companies I spoke to advised me to get EDF to fit the smart meter and when that was done I could shop around for the best tariff since their AI systems were unable to quote for my old meters2

Have you checked it’s all working properly ??? Mine was working ok for about a week or so after it was installed , then it all went wrong 😑
I am on economy 10 timing but they are charging me variable standard for both peak and off peak …my meter says different to what they are actually charging me0 -
Hahaha I had mine installed on 23rd June, still not working properly. Not smart, no IHD. EDF say they need to get it registered as 2 rate meter, even though the meter is showing 3 rates. Insane how complicated they have made this2

9 days after my last post, and almost 2 months since the installation, EDF now telling me there are “system issues” when trying to bill the type of meter I got. The meter I never asked for, the meter they wanted me to have by threatening to withdraw my tariff.. oh and I now have 4 meter readings. You couldn’t make this up!0

Was it a twin element meter they fitted ?
As they have said the same to others.
like say the Aclara sgm-1422b ?
Twin element means they can measure power on both port 4 live and port 5 restricted independently, like some old multirate tariffs did with two independent meters.
And some rts meters did internally for different feeds - in some cases like my old rts meter for 2 independent restricted feeds OR from Rosie1001s threads here Horstman did live and restricted feeds and day / nighton 1, peak (0 used) / off peak on her billing.
