update to this saga. Octopus say the Aclara meter I have is the only model to require 2 MPANs, (which is basically what you explained to me Scot39) so they coming to exchange the meter to a different brand 5T meter which should do the trick, close one mpan down and get me onto the snug tariff. I have to say I have been very impressed with them in the 2 weeks I have been with them. A million miles away from EDF experience.

A little off topic for OP here but just FYI

Octopus might not have come across them - but the Aclara is not the only twin element being fitted - that I have come across in this forum.

The users wids23 for instance posted this photo of an installed liberty 116 - and I believe the 2E/S4 - the two means its the twin element version. And the 4 - means it has 7 ports. 3 siwtched auxiliary supplies.

It's iirc the more variable auxiliary port smets2 version of their old 7 port only smets1 liberty 114.

they’ve switched me to a Kaifa M120B let’s see what happens

further update. Day 1, 2 meter readings, and water came on overnight as expected, so all looks to be sorted. Basically EDF weren’t bothered, Octopus been very helpful.
