Ha, I'm hiding my next pair of nice sewing scissors! Our house eats scissors 😬

A small gardening OAT today - I've finally planted a small plant that I bought on holiday last August 🙈 It's been sat in its tiny pot very patiently since then, and like the other two, hasn't died, so is now planted in the patio wall 😊

Small OAT today - dismantled the over engineered Joseph kitchen drainer and thoroughly scrubbed and disinfected it.

DH unwell so had to pretty much do everything including clearing up cat sick which is “his job”.

However I did take a huge leap of faith and pay the £2,880 as a non-tax payer into my pension today despite it going down £4k since February. I’m not an investor or risk taker but feel the £720 tax I’ll grab back is perhaps worth it and I’m not entirely reliant on this pension for my future security. Let’s just hope the stock market improves.

Hi All, I have enjoyed reading your OATs, I was going to write about my OATs this morning with a to do, but decided in the end to write a ta da list when all done, that way if I wasn't in the mood I wouldn't need to worry about failing as I would need to be in the mood, so here it is and thanks for the thread it is a great idea....

    1) Change bed linen
    2) Wash up
    3) Put washing on
    4) Write some more of my novel

I am pleased to say I have accomplished everything I had wanted to do today. Yippee...now a long shower to wash away the cobwebs! I hope you have a good evening allXX

Thank you all - Using the good jigsaw is a similar sin to using fabric scissors on cardboard but I don't know where he kept  the older/cheaper ones. DS1 says he knows how to change the blades, and the batteries so he will show me.

They did the lawn, and the petrol lawnmower is playing up so more you tube videos to watch. My neighbour will help if we can't work it out. I have promised to make a start on filling some of the holes made.

While they did the lawn I tackled a long neglected space as promised, clearing four black bags and a pile of cardboard from DS1 bedroom. For the first time in years I could get close enough to remove the ancient curtains (binned) and hang one of the new sets. Removed a folding table and various failed electricals, and added a blanket box which has absorbed lots of his stuff. Much nicer in there. Yes I could have made him do it but he struggles with it just as much as I hate mowing the lawn so a fair trade.  It will all get gone through properly when he temporarily moves into the spare room but pleased with my progress for now.

I also booked a council collection for the two sofas.

Good tasks to have got done @Sallyforth, hope Mr SF feels better soon. Try feeding him antihistamines if cold symptoms, the pollen seems to be going mad this year.

Hi @CrazyBee787, great work! Very impressed you're writing a novel. Enjoy the fresh bedding 😊

Sounds a fair trade @redofromstart, what great progress.
And while it would always be nicer to live in a world where we always have the exact right thing to perfectly apply to the right use at the right time, that world is entirely imaginary to all human existence and you are smashing it in this one

@redofromstart - the mower may need servicing. It's not difficult. I've even done it once :p If either boy is interested in engineering, it might be a good job for them. Probably new spark plug, oil, and filter (which as far as i'm concerned looked exactly like a washing-up sponge), plus taking the blade off and sharpening it before putting it back. I bet there will be more than one sharpener in the tool collection, probably some oil, and quite likely spark plugs and filters too.

I've moved a hose reel round to the patio, and put a hose connection on the tap. That doesn't leak (miraculously) but frustratingly the other end does. However, having looked at it, I think it's the sprays that are leaking, not the hose connectors, so they may need replacing. I'll see whether I can replace the connector on the pressure washer as that might help too.

Seedlings delivered the other day have been potted up, and capillary matting put under the seedlings on the kitchen window sill as I don't always remember to water them when I should. Courgettes have been sown, so I need to start looking through the seed collection to see what needs sowing next indoors (I have propagator space) and what needs sowing outside.

Builders due tomorrow/Tuesday to look round, so I need to get the list together and see what else I can add (summerhouse and small shed guttering; finish summerhouse repairs; possibly IBC plumbing if they sound like they know what they're talking about).

New solar goes on tomorrow too, which is very exciting, as there are west-facing panels in this lot which will make a real difference in the evenings, particularly in spring and autumn.

The cupboard in the kitchen where the dishwasher needs to go is EMPTY! Very proud of this one 😊
There is still some sorting to do to store the duplicate cleaning materials in the cellar but that would have taken more time than I had this evening and the critical task (emptying the cupboard) is done, so over to Mr KK now … 😉

Reviewed our budget v. our contributions to the joint accounts v. the increases to water and council tax bills and have told Mr KK how to adjust his contributions. Mine are done.

WOW there's been some great sorting and Spring action going on since I last posted <3  Great going folks ;)
@ Cheery_Daff - Ha, I'm hiding my next pair of nice sewing scissors! Our house eats scissors 😬
That really tickled me! :D:D I have 6 pairs of scissors that keep finding new places to hide other than their rightful place! :/ If I open the kitchen draw one more time and don't find a single pair of the 2 that should be there, I'm just going the scream 'scissors' at the top of my voice, whether anyone is in, or not! :D:D
I've been very good at keeping up with the decluttering listings, but am having a break for a couple of days as I have a rather hectic weeks of appointments :/
I've rebalanced the monthly budget to reflect increases in HH bills and where any addition savings, if any, can be made. I check and recheck the HH budget every month and every bank statement to see that everything corresponds correctly and no additional spends or payments have been made/added that should be there!
I've been pottering about in the garden sorting out anything that needs to be done, but fortunately, most things are now sorted as I always make time to potter around for 20-30 minutes daily as it's good for mental health <3 Now it's mainly watering my back and front pots, keeping the birdbaths & water features clean and refilled, and filling the feeders, when needed. I can now spend some time sitting and enjoying the garden ;)

Very impressed with how productive everyone is!

Non working day (I do compressed hours 9-day fortnight) so hoping to munch a few oats:

    - Dressing gowns washed and dried before this evening (because we have an EV tariff we do almost all washing overnight but have got a cheeky hour of cheap rate so making the most)
    - Sort paperwork to get replacement for damaged passport before costs go up
    - Get up to date on paperwork for side hussle
