I am dialling down my OAT efforts for a week or so. I don't get much time during the week and next weekend I have the combination of needing a batch cook, a haircut (lose 3 hours to that and find it tiring) and cleaning tasks that will swing around then.
I will continue to nibble on OATs where I can and keep thinking about them - the latter seems to be the key for me to getting these things done!
KKAs at 15.05.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £235,841
- OPs to mortgage = £11,338 Interest saved £5225 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

I need to look at my list and find something to tick off it today, even if it's a small job. Although I've already done a great job of procrastinating about work by going out to plant some geranium and having to do a whole lot more weeding!

I have a large OAT being facilitated as we speak - Mr C is supervising the delivery of a bag of topsoil for levelling the lawn 😃5
-
ooh that is good news Cheery, shout if you find a brilliant solution to sorting it out. Ours is more bumps than level now that the lawn has been mowed enough to see. I have a couple of bags of top soil, lawn seed and a magic levelling rake thing ready to have a try at sorting it.
Thanks for the suggestions on the lawn mower, it was serviced and things replaced last spring so it could just be air bubbles or old petrol causing it to stall. If it isn't a simple fix then I already have a very generous offer of one that is surplus to requirements from a family member.
OATs for me to do this week:
1. Paper tax return for Mr Redo - need to check what info I am missing. Mine can be done online and I probably need to request interest statements for some of it.
2. Companies house, sure something is due end of April although I may have done it in the flurry of Sadmin. Still haven't done anything about closing the limited company actually.
3. Plant some seeds, strictly speaking not an OAT but something I should have made a start on weeks ago. Ditto building and filling the last raised bed.

Dropped a letter into my Dr before that became an OAT
Tomorrow I need to fit in new tax year things like switching money around and comparing interest rates. Boring but essential!3 -
Todays OATS were only really thought of in the last few hours and have all been completed now:-
1)Wash up.
2)Make some HM meatballs and tomato sauce with garlic and onion, serve for dinner. (I want to do more home made meals after a period of staying out of the kitchen so to speak and first using fridge resources then move on to freezer and cupboard to maximise efficiencies (be more economical))
2) Write two pages on novel...although I feel it has taken a boring turn and is no longer interesting for reading, as I am getting bored with it..I think I will take another break from this and come back with a fresh head. At some point another OAT will be to re-read from begginning and write some more and get it back on track!
3) I have started a mindful and accountability diary for weightloss I put my plans and achieved goals on there, and feel quite set up now for the task ahead (which is to lose weight - My first goal 1 stone)!
Good luck and Well done to allXXI am trying to raise £150 by 01.07.25 from Prolific and other sources, I am up to £7.50/£150 which is 5%1 -
Well done @CrazyBee787, sounds like you're covering a great range of OATs.
And thank you for reminding me that OATs can be outstanding and annoying on a daily to-do list basis too, I've been feeling slightly guilty about not smashing any big things lately, but I have been keeping the OAT faith and tackling the small bits like emails and domestic chores when they occur rather than have them detract from my energy and attention knowing that they're lurking, and that's the point of trying to embrace the OAT mindset isn't it!3 -
