Lovely to read about everyone's progress. I've tackled a huge OAT today, with a little help on the heavy lifting.
Years ago I bought a chaise lounge for my bedroom, I had visions of being an elegant lady of leisure reclining with my book and a box of chocolates. Of course it turned into a tool store like everything else in this house. I finally cleared it off a few weeks ago and realised that it is rather moth eaten and it was time for it to go. Slight problem being that it is too wide for the low narrow original doorway. We got it in originally through a hole in the floorboards when we removed the second staircase. The window fitters had offered to get it out when the window is being replaced but that may be months away.Dear reader, I have sinned. I used his best jigsaw and ruthlessly cut the legs off. We then managed to get it outside. I do feel guilty about using the good jigsaw though. Bedroom now feels huge, and the chair I bought a few weeks ago is in place ready for cat snoozes later. The cats of course are now playing 'King of the Castle' on the legless sofa outside. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hmm, handbag @doingitanyway? Or in a pile of bits you moved out of spare room?
@KajiKita Very chuffed for you, I think an OAT that's moved house with you several times definitely wins an 'OOAT smashed' award!
That's so nice of you @Blackcats, that's a big job
I am also in awe of your practical skills @greenbee
Your garden is coming on fabulously @Sallyforth so don't look at what you can't *currently* do, look at all the brilliant progress you've made!
Great work @Cheery_Daff
If it's got to be done, it's got to be done @redofromstart and I'm sure the best jigsaw is pleased to have helped. Get yourself outside in the next few days onto the legless sofa with a book and a box of chocolates 😊

Could you not find the second-best jigsaw?
Well done on making such significant progress.2 -
A jigsaw has replaceable blades does it not? 😉😊
Well done on MAKING THE DECISION and the executing it. Sounds like exactly the right thing to do 😊

I am sure there are youtube videos on how to replace the jigsaw blades. Reminds me, I must also work out how to change batteries on the various drills now that I have run them all to flatMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Sounds like you'd better find the chargers too.1

Excellent work all, and special nod to you @redofromstart 😊 Bizarrely enough, we got rid of a moth-eaten old chaise recently too, and also had to hack it up, although in our case it was to get it in the car for the tip. We too had visions of lounging elegantly in the bedroom, but it migrated from the living room to the kitchen, at which point we realised just how wonky and irreparable the legs were, and that we have plenty of other rooms to lounge in, and how stained and ripped it was, so off it went. A relief all round.
And I agree - tools are to be used! I'm sure you'll be able to change the blades when needed, and if not, pass it on to someone else x
Re-spotted another OAT today - cleaning down the back of the loo 😬 I mean, the loo itself gets cleaned, but the boiler sits almost over it so there's an awkward bit down the side that just has a bin in, and it's often full of cobwebs, and now there's detritus from a recent boiler fix. Need to get down there with a scrubbing brush and the hoover!4 -
