Stay safe, those of you in the red zone.
I am cooking a herby chicken for dinner & just thought about dumplings, great idea. But I will start my cosy Friday in the afternoon before DH gets home, with a nice ginger tea, slice of cake & do some puzzle or knitting, might watch a good film.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Take care everyone. Hugs from America that everyone stays warm and dry - and doesn't blow away.7

Hope everyone stays safe and warm during the storms.
@Cairnpapple - your dinner sounds delicious. What a treat to get the apples from your friend.@Makingabobor2 - what a lovely cosy afternoon. Enjoy your snug time.
a leisurely start here and we have just enjoyed banana pancakes with berry compote and a cup of coffee for OH and a big mug of biscuit brew tea for me.
OH going to b n q soon. Doesn't fit with my idea of cosy so I'm staying home and planning to do a couple of rows of crochet whilst listening to my book.6 -
Many non-cosy tasks to do today but I'll be doing them wearing fluffy pink socks.
Got lasagne out of the freezer for dinner so we can have a homecooked meal without me having to cook today.
Miraculously there's still some baileys left from Christmas so I'll look forward to a wee glass or two of that tonight.
I'm wearing a silver with black stone butterfly pendant which feels like an apt cosy winter with hopes of spring piece of jewellery5 -
I feel very lucky - am well outside of the red zone but its dry, mild and windy outside so I took advantage of the weather and did 3 loads of washing, which I am pleased is drying nicely. Will finish them off indoors with the heating on - have barely used it this winter - and have a potter / declutter / tidy at the same time.
Although I have made the effort to exercise as usual, I have had particularly long stretches at my desk this month, mainly because when I'm under a heated throw there is no budging me. Am swathed in 5 (count 'em) layers of clothing and cosy whilst working. My afternoon coffee slipped down a treat, with the assistance of the last of the Christmas stollen. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -
Enjoyed planning the garden this afternoon, which was only disturbed by DH chasing round the garden after our plastic greenhouse broke free of its restraints in all this wind. Quite funny watching him really. 😁

I have to say, it has been quite bad here in the red zone. I think we've just lost some trellis and a bit of the raised bed where the bins ran into it (even though we'd already tipped them over). But I haven't been outside yet so there may be more damage. The fence seems to have just about held up but I suspect one more gust might send it over! And who knows about the roof!
Hoping for a quieter evening to be cosy and nice.1 -
