  • 27th is a NSD for me. 7/15 now. This was my first month doing it and it has been hard not to spend on little things. But doing this challenge has influenced some of my choices and helped me save a bit of money. So I consider that a win. For example, we were out at a new outlet mall that has opened up near us today. We didn't buy clothes or anything(great), but we also sat down in a Starbucks there and would normally have ordered coffee, sandwiches and cakes. However, we sat down, had a look at what they had and decided actually we have better stuff at home. I'm pleased my wife actually said that, because it means my personal reduction in spending efforts are having an influence on her spending behaviour and thoughts. So we went straight back home without spending anything and I cooked burgers and we had cakes from our fridge.

February target: I will reduce my target to 10 NSD.
If you wanted you could change the rules so you find it a bit easier going and more motivating, like exclude essentials, or make sure you shop for everything in one day, so you don't end up buying groceries all through the week. Have a budget of spending money and only if you go over record it as a spending day, this way you have a bit of leeway and a goal to reach. But I undertsand you wanting true No spend days, but honestly you'll have more of them if you go easier on your self, just an idea. Well done for the improvements you have made, 7 true no spend days is still good when you haven't done it before.
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I have been trying to condense spending into fewer days but still little things come up. Mostly unnecessary things as well, like little pops to the shop.

I will keep going with aiming for complete no spend days, basically to help me stop spending on little bits of rubbish.

Another no spend day for me today so 8/15 now.
No.13 in the 2025 saving money challenge. Target £36,000.

    Monthly grocery budget challenge: £720

NSD challenge: target 10 a month

Fat loss quarterly challenge: 21%body fat to 17%.

Not sure about today, I have bought/made my kids World Book Day outfits, one I bought second hand and the other one I have made from bits I had lying around, excpet for a white shirt, which I bought from Vinted. It is a spend,  think I could losely argue it is essential, as the kids need an outfit for school but I am happy however you want to log it CB x Either way I am very happy with my cost affective outfits, and really pleased at how my home made one has turned out. Better foy my bank balance and the enviroment.
