Cassingtonbear said:27th is a NSD for me. 7/15 now. This was my first month doing it and it has been hard not to spend on little things. But doing this challenge has influenced some of my choices and helped me save a bit of money. So I consider that a win. For example, we were out at a new outlet mall that has opened up near us today. We didn't buy clothes or anything(great), but we also sat down in a Starbucks there and would normally have ordered coffee, sandwiches and cakes. However, we sat down, had a look at what they had and decided actually we have better stuff at home. I'm pleased my wife actually said that, because it means my personal reduction in spending efforts are having an influence on her spending behaviour and thoughts. So we went straight back home without spending anything and I cooked burgers and we had cakes from our fridge.
February target: I will reduce my target to 10 NSD.5 -

Think I will go for 15 again in February please. Small spend day for me today, have spent to download an app to get me through my theory test (hopefully) but aiming to finish January strong with no spends rest of week. Feb however I know I need to spend for things like insurance and solicitors fees for new house purchase so 15 should be achievable2025 in 2025- 2027/2025

I’m on day 21 of my 22 day target today. I’ve spent a grand total of £13 on groceries this month, which is a bit mind-boggling to me. I don’t count spends on petrol or buses.I think it’s an easier challenge for me as I don’t have pets or growing children to clothe, entertain, and feed — my girls are both grown up and living with partners, working away. I’ve eaten out twice this month though, once at an eye-wateringly expensive central London restaurant, won’t be doing that again in a while!!
I’m wondering if I can smash my target but am tempted to try the TooGoodToGo app again maybe later this week. I got £25 of food for a fiver.I think February could be harder, but will see! I’d like to stick to a target of 22 days please. Thank you @cathybird 💐4 -
