Tonteg Rd (which is 30mph) changes to 20mph just before you turn left onto Gwaelod-y-Garth Rd and go over the bridge and enter the roundabout.

Therefore the road approaching the roundabout, and the whole roundabout is 20mph, as well as any roads exiting the roundabout unless there is a sign indicating a different speed limit. Due to this, there doesn't need to be a sign at the start of Cardiff Road stating the speed limit.

While streetview is pre-20mph change, the latest satellite view of that location shows road markings stating the speed limit change. I'm going to assume there's street signs there as well.

  •  I will have to pay fees to contest in court won't I?
Not if you represent yourself and you are successful you won't. However, from the above, it seems that may not be a good idea.   ;)

    What year are those images?

I've just installed Google Earth on my phone to look and those road markings aren't there, so I'm now totally confused.

Here are my images. I don't see the same road markings and I'm certain there are no road markings displayed now.

It says "Imagery Date: 10/11/2024" at the bottom, presumably using American date formatting rather than peering into the future!

Out of curiosity, I ran Google Earth Pro on my PC and got the same images @Tony_ showed, dated 10/11/2024, which is presumable October 11. ;)  The earlier image Google Earth has is from June 2023 and the markings are, unsuprisingly, not there.

Yes at the left of the red circles on the previous posted satellite image.
  • Then that appears to be game, set & match unfortunately.
