Yes. You haven't used them so there shouldn't be a problem.

  • How many days do i have to return the product.
  • I bought my Reebok Classics trainers 4 weeks ago at Sports Direct in Camberley. I had bought the same trainers and worn them for running and 5-a-side football for the last 10 years. This time, the sole had become unstuck after playing indoor 5-a-side football only 4 times. I took the back to the store this morning and the manager would not exchange them because i was... wait for...

    wearing them for football.

According to the manager they are a leisure shoe and therfore my claims that they are not fit for purpose are unjustified because they are for leisure purposes only.

Surely this is absurd? Surley, I am within my rights to get an exchange on faulty goods?

hi both our sports worlds have small (tiny) notices all over the tills. It just these days people expect a refund simply becasue they dont want it (or often find it cheaper so make up some excuse if this is the case) so basically no leg to stand on as they are within their rights. i refuse to buy anything from there now and will pay a little bit extra for shopping peace of mind and GOOD customer service. the kids that work in there wouldn't know custopmer service if jumped out on them but you get what you pay for (cheap products)

Unfortunately for you,I think they may within their rights.
They are saying you misused them, and that's probably right, assuming they are correct about them being a leisure shoe.

If i used a pair of fashion trousers for doing aerobic excercise in,and they ripped, I would only have myself to blame.

I went to sportswold/direct or whatever they are calling themselves these days to buy a football strip for my son. After lfailing to find the size I wanted I called over an assistance for advice. I told her I wanted a size 7-8 yrs of the full strip (kids full package strip as opposed to the bigger and more expensive shirt only) but could only see the 6-7 yrs strip. She told me that the full strip package only went up to 6-7 yrs and i would have to buy the 8-10 yrs (shirt only). Asked if I could bring it back she replied "yes no problem". The following day I saw the full strip in a 7-8 yrs size in JJB. I purchased this and took the other back to sports world. I explained what had happened (wrong advice given) but was told i could only get an exchange or credit note. After arguing for 20 mins i came away with a credit note and complaints form. Then manager signed it manager and wouldnt give me his name. To say im a little peed off right now is an under statement.
Is there anything I can do to get my money back on this?

You need to prove that the assistant said that you could take it back. I can't see how you can get her to do this. Sorry x
    Gone ... or have I?

Hi, I too work at Sports direct, part time whilst I'm doing my Law degree. I want to raise a few points really.
1.) I have noticed a few posts about poor customer service and the staff working there. In case it hasn't been noticed some of the customers aren't the nicest of folk (many are perfectly pleasant) so serving these people can take a lot out of you meaning come the end of the day or sometime even lunchtime on a difficult day people can be fed up so please sometimes there's more than meets the eye.
2.) As for complaints about refunds, by law we do not have to give refunds unless the clothing shoes etc is not of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described.
3.) You have no rights if the item simply doesn’t fit. You have no rights if you simply change your mind. You have no rights if you have selected the wrong clothes for a particular use. my sources for points 2 and 3 came directly from www. consumerdirect. gov. uk
4.) as for the sports direct returns policy, we do have signs at the tills outlining them but here you go www. sportsdirect.com /customerservices/ Returns. aspx
5.) as for the tidiness and cleanliness of the store, often i find discarded bits of people's lunch lying on the floor. you don't dump your food at home don't do it in the shops. also we would very much appreciate it if you put clothes on the rails instead of the floor. (again I know it's not all of you but it is a hefty majority)

    Hope that helped?

    ok
knowing this company and it's staff of old ( we have 2 branches where I live) and knowing how vigilent the staff are at their jobs (!)
    here is my suggestion;
can you BUY another pair in the smaller size
then you have a receipt - can you then put the larger size ones in the box and return them withe the receipt and claim the wrong size shoes was in the box?

BEFORE you all shout at me...............
the OP wouldn't have to resort to this if the store manager would be slightly more accommodating- OP hasn't asked for a refund- merely an exchange for a different size
most companies would be happy to do this for good customer relations ( of course that's a nasty phrase for our 2 local branches!)

Most places do not let you exchange or have a refund with no receipt as you get shoplifters trying to do this a lot.
