Sports World pass off rubbish as quality goods, by using the past reputation of brand names which they have bought to add (apparent) 'value' to cheap poor quality junk.

True, don't EVER buy a Karrimor rucksack or Karrimor boots from Sports World. They use the name on rubbish quality rucksacks & boots and send the best quality to outdoor shops (Millets etc.)

I know its annoying, but surley when your buying for some else you'd take greater care to keep the receipt as the chances of it having to be returned are higher, unfortunatly we now presume all shops will bend over backwards for us if there is a problem, which is the wrong attitude IMO.

Sports Soccer World are well within there rights to do nothing without proof of purchase, but can'nt see an exchange for same pair much of a issue, sounds like a bad store or very non understadning staff.

Bad stores won't exchange because they are more concerned about their stock tallying than keeping a customer happy by a simple exchange.Good stores would have well trained staff and procedures for updating stocktaking systems, but this might end up ultimately costing the customer more...

I was in sports world yesterday and a women infront of me was returning a top bought that morning for her son but it didn't fit, and they didn't have a bigger size so she wanted a refund. They refused eventhough she had the receipt, they said we don't do refunds on anything, we can give you a credit note thats it. The women then said she had asked when purchasing it if it was not right could she have a refund and the staff member said yes, so they found the staff member she had asked who confirmed she had told her yes, and all they said was well the staff member was wrong and you can't have a refund.

I would have been furious at this.

its the same with primark too.
appreciate what you have got x
  • I work at Sports Direct and our store often allows exchanges without the receipt as long as the item/s are in a resaleable condition and are small sales. Also refunds if the item/s have been brought the same day.

Why not go in buy the correct size (same shoe ) and take that larger ones back on the new recept they wont know!
you might only get a credit voucher for a refund, but at least you have not totally wasted your money

    Good one! :rotfl:

Also, you need to buy a smaller size anyway; so isn't it worth the gamble?
    Reassuringly expensive

when I was in sports soccer a few months ago, I heard the cashier tell the customer immediately that they could not get a refund but only a credit note if they wish to bring it back, and if that was ok. Must have been really annoying to mention it all the time.
Mike Ashley has pasted his rubbish Sports direct brand all over St. James' Park, it just looks proper *beeeeep*.
