  • Personally, I'm prepared to sit tight for a bit. Rightly or wrongly, I have faith in their claim that our money is secure. They are probably not geared up to a situation where everyone suddenly wants all of their money back immediately, so I think it's reasonable to give them a bit of time to process claims. However, I will be disappointed if we don't start hearing about successful refunds within the next week or so. An update as to a timescale for outstanding refunds would also seem reasonable to expect.
  • Assuming there are hundreds of other people requesting refunds it'll take time?  Tuesday will be 5 working days since my email was sent.  Shouldn't take much longer but? 🤷‍♂️ next step is?

I would assume that all affected have, or will received this message today:

We just wanted to drop you a quick line to update you on your WeSwap refund.
We're working hard behind the scenes to get your money back to you as quickly as possible. We've built a new system to fast-track the process, and we're currently testing it to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Once testing is complete, we'll start issuing payments. We expect this to begin towards the end of next week.

As I suspected, this unexpected and unprecedented situation has meant they've had to put new systems in place, which takes a bit of time.

    Fingers crossed 🤞
  • I have been using a Revolut Card for travelling for about 5 years now and they enable me to exchange into lots of local currencies and use ATMs. May metal card is about £12 a month but I am really happy with it.

  • I received an email from Monovate today asking for a copy of my drivers licence and a utility bill to prove my identity and address.  Thirty will then refund my money.  Is this scam?
  • Sorry Monavate
  • I put my claim in today (9 Oct) with the identification they requested.  I received an automated acknowledgment.  Will have to wait and see if any refund appears.

The refund form at monavate.com/refund has been updated with the facility to upload the documents necessary for the refund to be made. So, you can go ahead and upload passport/utility bill without having to wait for an email asking you to do so.
