It beggars belief to me that he is already openly touting a rebirth of the Tomatopia and MyWatts offerings, whilst leaving a trail of destruction and creditors behind him.Indeed as audited report from that unknown independent auditor - Deloitte LLP, the directors appear to be funding services for their own companies , I assume they had no part in the bid for the contract for the services as suspect that would be a conflict of interest? There should also be approx £5m stock of solar panels held by BGRUTHА Global FZ-LLC

It was already highlighted yet they continued to trade? Audit Qualification - Inventory Records as The directors acknowledge that the auditor has issued a qualified audit opinion for the year ended December 2023 due to a limitation in the audit scope relating to inventory due to inadequate inventory records at 31 December 2023. As a result, the auditor was unable to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence regarding the existence, valuation, completeness, and rights and obligations over the inventory balance reported in the consolidated balance sheet.

I rang Octopus asking if it was possible to switch. Their staff have been told we will have to wait 30 days before we can switch as BG staff have to work through the backlog, so to try again around 18th December! We were informed that we could switch once our account has been set up which has happened. My in home meter now reports that BG is the electricity provider (from today). Mywatts no longer giving results as from 8pm 17th Nov. I've signed up for the Weekend Sunday half price so will charge the batteries, which will be a small consolation. I'm going to keep trying to switch before the 30 days are up!Earthlike2141 said:Does anyone know when we can start the switch process from BG?
I did a password reset on my Tomato Energy email address at BG and logged into a BG account tat was there. It says it can't show me an account balance yet, but I do have an account number.
No way I'm staying on their tariffs so waiting to pull the switch trigger.0 -
If BG is showing as your provider, it might be worth giving it a try. There is the official line, and then there is what is possible in practice...solarite said:

Surely need to confirm correct change-over meter readings before switching from BG, otherwise will end in chaos...0
-
Why? You have no control over the change-over meter readings, other than to provide each supplier with opening readings which may or may not become the validated readings. BG will bill from the first set to the second set, and the new supplier will bill from the second set. Chaos may ensue whether or not you wait. Arguably, having two change-over readings in quick succession limits the amount of messing around is possible in the validation process.wrf12345 said:Surely need to confirm correct change-over meter readings before switching from BG, otherwise will end in chaos...0 -
Copied from BG/ Tomato business website - "If you pay by Direct Debit, please don’t cancel it. We'll transfer your Direct Debit to your new British Gas account for you. The only difference is that it will say 'British Gas Business' on your bank/building society statement." Same for domestic?
And...."Ofgem’s advice is not to switch, but to wait until we’ve set up your new account. We’ll let you know when your account is all set up, and then you can choose from our great range of energy plans. You’re not tied in, and you can switch from us for free - if we’re not quite right for you." I don't think we'll find anything in the "Great range of energy plans."0 -
edit: Sorry - wrong quote.Somebody said:I may have missed it - did Farouk posted anything after they went into Administration?
How do you extract the three rate readings BG wants? I can't see any way of seeing the three R1, R2, R3 readings they are requesting on the unit? Do you just put in the numbers on the MyWatts site?

Wouldn't it need to be separately authorised, and connect as an "other user"? It would be a bit disappointing if an ex-supplied could still access your meter without being given new permissions.Chrysalis said:

We are planning early December for general availability. Its access has already been turned off for those whose supply has moved. It will need to register as a DCC Other User and then anyone who wants to use MyWatts going forward would have to separately authorise the connection. They still have to contend with the ongoing question of how they can make money from this. I don't think people will be willing to pay a subscription fee for access to MyWatts. It's actually not a bad idea to launch something like this as a beta service for free before getting into the energy supply business, because it would allow them to iron out the issues in their software platform amongst a willing group of volunteers with no impact on those individuals if their meters cannot be read. However, that would require financing from investors since they won't make any money from testers.1
