There's no requirement for you to pay it. I would get in touch with the administrators and ask for a credit note. They are out of time to bill you for usage up to 7th October 2025 if they sent that bill after 7th October 2026.

See clause 11.15 of the T&Cs:

"11.15 We will not try to recover charges for Your electricity that are older than 12 months unless We have already tried to recover these charges, or You have behaved obstructively or unreasonably."

The credit note is to zero out the bill and give you peace of mind they won't accidentally sell the spurious debt on to a debt collection agency. Although even if they did, you'd be able to dispute it.

This might be worth highlighting to MSE's news section (see "Send a story" link on main site news page). Maybe others have received similar bills and don't know about the breach of contract.

Had a bill from TE on 16 Oct, billing period 16-31 Oct 25. The email said it was my final bill, but the actual bill doesn't say final bill.

My last TE billing period was 1-30 Sep, so it looks as if I've not been charged for 1-15 Oct, which I think answers the 12 month back-billing question.

The hopefully final bill sates TE supplied me until 8 Nov, so I wonder if I'm going to get a second final bill for 1-8 Nov?

BG began charging me on 18 Nov.

No MRs - I'm in a flat & beholden to estate staff to do MRs.
