Apparently Virgin are not part of the 'Payee Checking Process'. That's what Santander tells me when I transferred funds to Virgin. I just made sure I got the details right and sent it anyway. It arrived ok.masonic said:

I only opened the VM account today, but haven't had this issue before with other accounts..
Has anyone else had this issue?
Do I simply just need to wait a few days maybe..2 -
On the HSBC app the only options are to edit the details or cancel the payment...trickydicky14 said:

Oh I wish, as its a credit card you can only log in via the App, its a separate app to the banking app and so it lets you click on open a current account but takes you to the website, I think Ill just leave it, not worth the grief.masonic said:

Anyone in same situation found a way around it other than calling them?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "1 -

Do I simply just need to wait a few days maybe..Hmm, so HSBC do not let app users send payments to accounts that aren't part of COP now? I am very surprised by that. In the past I have had no issue doing this. I would not be able to use such a bank as there are still lots of good savings accounts that do not support COP. It might be worth checking in the bank accounts section whether this is really a thing and what HSBC current account customers are doing about it.Edit: Just tested my reg saver via the HSBC app and it matched my details, so you'll probably be ok in a day or two. It looks like you are correct though, it doesn't let you proceed unless the name matches. Perhaps this is just where COP is active and not matching.

No, this also happened on my NatWest. I tried to send it immediately after opening it and it says r both by current account and regular saver account numbers were not valid. You couldn't move forward, only go back.masonic said:george4064 said:

I tried again half hour later and it then said it couldn't verify them but let me continue anyway.
I think it just takes a bit of time for the account to actually set up.0 -

That's even stranger. But when I tested just now my regular saver had been open for 2 days and HSBC absolutely wasn't going to let me proceed without giving them the correct name on the account. Whereas I can put whatever name I like at First Direct, Lloyds group etc and click through the warnings to get the money sent. The latter accounts don't let you set payee nicknames, so I tend to deliberately not enter the correct account name when it's one of my accounts, so that I can differentiate between my accounts.housebuyer143 said:

I have a Virgin cash ISA and a Virgin CC, however I needed to create a new log in to create a new current account, and this is via their banking app and not the CC app. This was actually very straight forward. When creating the log in it to open the current account it read that it would ask me questions I should know, one of them was what my overdraft limit was for my Virgin current account in 2017! A complete guess, I've had so many current accounts over the years, the other 4 questions I did know. It went through smoothly. So now I have three Virgin money log ins, though there's a button in the banking app to open the CC app.sammyjammy said:Ok new problem for me, trying to open a current account to access the saver but I already have a VM credit card so it recognises me as a customer, no matter what I do it wants sort code/account code and debit card number, its a CC so I don't have these, its sooo frustrating. Far too many pointless questions (one of which they kept changing the answer, wouldn't accept that we had a dependant), and other faff on logging you out of app, then making you sign back in to approve something that doesn't exist.
Given I already had a current account, it should just be open account, tick the T&C's box, then account open like other banks. What a farce!!!0
