You may never have had a Virgin Money account, but have you had a Yorkshire Bank or Clydesdale Bank previously. The login details are the same.

Ok new problem for me, trying to open a current account to access the saver but I already have a VM credit card so it recognises me as a customer, no matter what I do it wants sort code/account code and debit card  number, its a CC so I don't have these, its sooo frustrating.  Anyone in same situation found a way around it other than calling them?
I have a Virgin cash ISA and a Virgin CC, however I needed to create a new log in to create a new current account, and this is via their banking app and not the CC app. This was actually very straight forward. When creating the log in it to open the current account it read that it would ask me questions I should know, one of them was what my overdraft limit was for my Virgin current account in 2017! A complete guess, I've had so many current accounts over the years, the other 4 questions I did know. It went through smoothly. So now I have three Virgin money log ins, though there's a button in the banking app to open the CC app.
Thank you, it doesn't work like that for me, I have the banking app and start the application, once I put my address in it says I am familiar and asks for Customer number and bank details of the account, there is no option to create new log in details.  Its making the assumption that I have a VM current account but I've never had one.
That doesn't make any sense, you can't even manage a credit card online since they went app only.
The only thing I can think of is have you had a previous Yorkshire/Clydesdale bank account?

I opened the VM 10.38% RS yesterday & sent initial payment from my BoS current account. I had the usual COP warning about no match, but went ahead anyway & £250 was credited immediately. I suspect if I’d waited until today or tomorrow to fund it,  COP would be fine.
I opened and funded last week, from BoS, and got the same COP problem - IIRC, it said something along the lines of 'This type of account can't be checked...'. However, sent the money, and it arrived near instantaneously at VM.

Opened the RS this morning. Had the same COP issues (Lloyds didn't recognise the account at all and would not let me send money, similar to the HSBC issue discussed earlier in the thread). Ended up sending money to my existing VM current account (has been open for a few months since the switch offer was announced), and then an internal transfer to the RS. Will wait a few days and that should hopefully sort the COP issues.

No never had any product with either Yorkshire bank or Clydesdale.  I am flummoxed.

I figured I would give it one last go so clicked on the button to say I had a Yorks/Clydes account, it pulled through some info about me, some of it correct and some of it randomly wrong, had me at my address since 10/2013 instead of 9/1999 and starting work in 2013 instead of 1991, had correct employer though.  Very very random but all sorted, thanks for all the help, would have just given up without it.

Pretty easy to setup. Ran into same COP issues as others, but rbs allow you to send after a warning and it appeared no problem.

When trying to setup my new VM current account as a new payee from my HSBC I can't seem to verify the account details and therefore can't send any money.

"Payee account details are invalid. We can't check the details you entered with the payee's bank. Please check the Payee directly."

I only opened the VM account today, but haven't had this issue before with other accounts..

Has anyone else had this issue?

Do I simply just need to wait a few days maybe..
Can you not just check the details yourself and proceed with the payment? I had the same issue and just carried on.
Likewise I had that, just made sure I got it all correct and sent it, arrived very quickly no probs.
On the HSBC app the only options are to edit the details or cancel the payment...
Hmm, so HSBC do not let app users send payments to accounts that aren't part of COP now? I am very surprised by that. In the past I have had no issue doing this. I would not be able to use such a bank as there are still lots of good savings accounts that do not support COP. It might be worth checking in the bank accounts section whether this is really a thing and what HSBC current account customers are doing about it.
Edit: Just tested my reg saver via the HSBC app and it matched my details, so you'll probably be ok in a day or two. It looks like you are correct though, it doesn't let you proceed unless the name matches. Perhaps this is just where COP is active and not matching.
Still doesn't work with HSBC. Tried also with Chase and same issue, plus no option to proceed anyway.

I'll try again on Monday and Tuesday, if it still doesn't work I'll have to contact VM.
    Finally it has worked!

Still didn’t recognise the details and was therefore unable to verify them, but this time I was allowed to ‘Continue anyway’ and make the payment successfully.
