Excellent, managed to log onto (my wife's) M+ Virgin current account that we haven't used for 16 months, opened the new RS, paid money from Chase into current account and transferred it to the RS. All done within 10 minutes.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

I only opened the VM account today, but haven't had this issue before with other accounts..
Has anyone else had this issue?
Do I simply just need to wait a few days maybe..Hmm, so HSBC do not let app users send payments to accounts that aren't part of COP now? I am very surprised by that. In the past I have had no issue doing this. I would not be able to use such a bank as there are still lots of good savings accounts that do not support COP. It might be worth checking in the bank accounts section whether this is really a thing and what HSBC current account customers are doing about it.Edit: Just tested my reg saver via the HSBC app and it matched my details, so you'll probably be ok in a day or two. It looks like you are correct though, it doesn't let you proceed unless the name matches. Perhaps this is just where COP is active and not matching.
I'll try again on Monday and Tuesday, if it still doesn't work I'll have to contact VM."If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

For people struggling with COP, have you tried sending to your Virgin Current a/c and then just doing an internal transfer?4

Thanks for bringing this up. I'd completely missed it.
I already have a Virgin Current account so opening it was a few clicks - the fields were already pre-populated with my details.
I've found COP to be variable with a whole range of banks and not consistent either. My Kroo account shows up sometimes and not others. Likewise the Virgin and First Direct accounts. Same sending bank, same receiving bank, different results. It makes no sense.0 -
I opened the VM 10.38% RS yesterday & sent initial payment from my BoS current account. I had the usual COP warning about no match, but went ahead anyway & £250 was credited immediately. I suspect if I’d waited until today or tomorrow to fund it, COP would be fine.1

Anyone in same situation found a way around it other than calling them?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
