Well, I can report my wife found my old login info for Virgin which I have not used for several years and it worked. I don’t have any existing current accounts but do have two old linked saving accounts. So now it gives me the opportunity to open a new CA and saver, pleased about that.

That just goes to demonstrate what a monstrosity Virgin Money is. People in identical situations having completely different experiences. Just like you, I had an old savings account left behind from a few years ago, but the site would not let me log in with my old details (not using my customer number or user id and password, nor using telephone banking PIN and account details). But, unlike another forumite trying the same thing, I was able to sign up as a new customer and open the accounts without issue on the website, despite being told on the app that they 'recognised me' and I needed to log in to proceed.

I pity Nationwide taking on all this mess next year, but hopefully they will put it out of its misery and migrate everything onto their systems.

I'll take £65 for a few minutes 'work', and really don't care about hard searches. If I applied your logic to all my regular savers, I'd be passing up many hundreds over the year.

Agreed! I don't pay tax on mine so it's definitely worth it to get double the amount of interest on this than the same in my other RS.

This is a money saving site, so the vast majority of people on here will think that it is well worth it.

Without sounding like somebody from the 1890s (you know, look after the pennies etc etc) all these small gains add up, potentially you can have at a wild guess between £1-2k earning at least 7%, some at 8% and this at 10%.

I know one of you here has about 40 odd savers so multiply that 😀

Your 'investment' is guaranteed, there is no risk whatsoever and other than some initial problems (for me) its a breeze to maintain.

Virgin state in the summary box "We’ll add any interest on the last working day in March, June, September, and December."

I presume then that only the June interest payment and final interest payment on maturity will count towards PSA for 2025/26? Can anyone provide an estimate of how much interest will be paid in 2025/26 from this account if it's funded fully each month? TIA

I make it about £90 but much will depend on exact deposit dates, etc - I didn't factor in exact numbers of days in this either, just using a twelfth of 10% for monthly gross interest:

This account is flexible too, plus you can add more in the next month if you didn't contribute enough on the previous one. It feels almost like a easy access saving account.
