NatWest/RBS/Ulster £200 Switching Offer 15/2/2024-2/4/2024

In reality, even where LBG demand that you hold a current account, it only matters if you have it at the point of application. Plenty of reports of Club Lloyds Monthly Savers maturing with full interest paid even after the Club Lloyds current account has been downgraded or even switched away/closed.Barkin said:
I switched my Halifax current account to First Direct last year, leaving the RS as my only account with Halifax, and it's still going.amsterdamgroove said:
I think you are right! Thanks!Barkin said:
Why would they? The switch only affects the current account - the RS account is a separate animal, and isn't "associated" with the current account in any way. You don't need to hold a current account in order to have the RS account.amsterdamgroove said:I just switched an Halifax current account but there's one of those Regular Saver savings accounts still associated to it (12 months of fixed rate/ £250 max deposit per month). Did anyone have their switch cancelled because of this?
Some banks -- First Direct, for example -- they only let you have a Regular Saver account if you hold a current account with them. I looked everywhere on Halifax's site and I've seen no mention of this requirement for the Halifax Regular Saver savings account.
So, I guess I'll just keep the RS account open and the let the corresponding standing order be transferred to the new NW current account. I hope that's how it will go.1 -
Guys. Am I being blind? Where is the 2nd April cut off date mentioned? Will I be too late for this given that its bank holiday on 1st?0
-
Natwest haven't published it, but have clearly communicated it to the media (including MSE). This happened last time, even though at the time they promised they would give at least 5 days notice before closing the offer.DJSINGH said:Guys. Am I being blind? At the very least, presume April 2nd, and be pleasantly surprised if it's later.
The offer is still being advertised now so you should be fine to apply and get the offer.1 -
Sorry if this has been previously covered. I am trying to open the NAT WEST account. I am also awaiting the £80 bonus from the HSBC global money account. The only possible account that I could use to switch to NAT WEST is my HSBC ADVANCE account. I am concerned that I would then not receive the £80 bonus. Can anyone clarify please?0

Can't clarify, but surely the worst case scenario of using your HSBC account to start a switch now is you only get £200 versus a possible £280, however if you don't apply all you'll ever get is £80...traceyaj said:Sorry if this has been previously covered. Although on the flip side NatWest have run switching offers fairly frequently so it is perfectly possible that by not using HSBC as a donor account now, you may be able to get the £80 from HSBC and a future NatWest switching offer. Even if the next NatWest switching offer was only, say £150, you'd still be £30 better off if you stick to getting the £80 from HSBC and then switching to NatWest at a later date.harz99 said:

Edited to add: From the HSBC switching offer terms (assuming I've got the correct offer):
So it seems you'd need to keep the HSBC current account open to get the £80.2 -
My wife's switch was supposed to complete on 26th. She contacted NatWest 2 days ago and they finally got back to her this morning to say the switch hasn't completed as they are still waiting for info from TSB. However, they don't say what info they need. Her TSB account still sits open with no money in it. A DD is due on 7th April, so hoping this gets sorted quickly. So much for the CASS 7 day switch guarantee.0

Trying to switch a Joint Account is a nightmare compared to when I switched to Virgin Money and Nationwide. I just find it so outdated that you have to setup a solo account, then wait a week to get the joint party added, then request a switch.Customer service so far has been so so, faster than my existing (Virgin) but I wouldn’t say any more helpful. I can see that it ends now within 7 days so I’ve requested the switch for 2 weeks time (the joint party should be added within the next few days) but even that form is outdated, doesn’t provide email confirmation and staff can’t check if it’s been received.
Hopefully it does allow me to before the offer end date, unless they’ll be a complaint going in!0 -
Having issues getting on online banking
Guess it’s due to having a previous account about 6 years old
Spoke to CS twice already and was advised to wait 24 hrs and register for online banking
2nd phone call was told the same and they haven’t a clue why I can’t access online banking.
I have a call back due Tuesday to see if I have access to online banking
See what happens then coz my last call they were on about technical sorting the account out0 -
Has this offer offer ended now?0
