Notably, the terms have shifted from an October 2017 cut off to January 2020 - so I should be eligible again with Natwest. Didn't join RBS until 2020 though, unfortunately

Same here. Just opened another Chase account and will switch that.

I'm sure all good things will come to an end, but if successful this will be almost £1000 in a few months in total.

Does anyone know when the offer ran back in 2020? I can see I switched a RBS away in August 2020, but don't know when I opened it. Nothing in my email either!

Can I open an new account with bank A  today then once account is opened  switch to bank B to get the award?

Oo nice, I just checked and my last switch to NatWest was December 2019 so the RBS one should work for me, I like the minimal requirements too, couple of donor accounts reading and waiting too.

There was an offer Sept - Dec 2020. There definitely wasn't an offer between April and August that year (as there were none during the first lockdown), but I can't be certain about Jan, Feb, March. You can use the Wayback Machine to check.
