My switch into an existing NatWest account is scheduled to complete on 3 April. I also have a pension payment that will be paid into the NatWest account on the same day.

My question is whether the pension payment will count towards the £1,250 as it is likely to be timed before the switch fully completes?

You don't have to wait until the switch completes to put in the £1,250.

Has anyone had payments over weekends? I’m not expecting it but wondered if anyone has
Payments are made on banking days. So no weekends or bank holidays.

I am a little unsure about the Chase current. They are asking for the debit card number. I wasn't intending giving that as I don't want my main Chase account switched/closed. Any experience on this?
Once you have a Chase account in addition to the one that's being switched then it's fine to put in the debit card number. It will just be assigned to the other Chase account. You can manually assign the card to the account that's not being switched if you want to as well.

Just provide the details of your second/burner Chase current account and select ‘no debit card’ option when signing up for the switch.

To be sure, check your main Chase account is the ‘Spending from’ account.
That's the best option if you can do it, which I think you can in this case.

But on at least one switch they did not offer me that option. It has been established (my experience and that of others) that you can just provide the details of your debit card. As long as that card is associated with your main account, not the burner account, all goes well.

    That's an interesting observation.

Would you say that the deposit would be ineligible if it was the day before the switch completion?

I just switched an Halifax current account but there's one of those Regular Saver savings accounts still associated to it (12 months of fixed rate/ £250 max deposit per month). Did anyone have their switch cancelled because of this?
Why would they?  The switch only affects the current account - the RS account is a separate animal, and isn't "associated" with the current account in any way. You don't need to hold a current account in order to have the RS account.
I think you are right! Thanks!

Some banks -- First Direct, for example -- they only let you have a Regular Saver account if you hold a current account with them. I looked everywhere on Halifax's site and I've seen no mention of this requirement for the Halifax Regular Saver savings account.

So, I guess I'll just keep the RS account open and the let the corresponding standing order be transferred to the new NW current account. I hope that's how it will go.

No, plenty on here have received the bonuses when they put the £1,250 in before switch completion. The terms say "within 60 days of switching". The process of switching starts as soon as you start your switch.

Hi, will I receive a £200 free cash if I switch from Natwest to RBS, even though these are sisters companies?
The terms say "Complete a switch of a non-NatWest current account to your eligible account using the Current Account Switch Service online", so from that probably yes, but to be on the safe side I think I would switch from a non-NatWest group account.

I switched my Halifax current account to First Direct last year, leaving the RS as my only account with Halifax, and it's still going.
