Thanks, just took a look. I can't do it on RBS yet but I can on NW (I was a NW customer before)PRAISETHESUN said:
The biometrics is an in-app thing. not linked to face ID or fingerprint unlock. Essentially you register your photo inside the app, and it then compares this to a new photo of you that gets taken when you need to authorise something.paddyposh said:
By biometrics enabled do you mean like Face ID/Touch ID etc?Marcoos said:
They are both a pain in the rear. Well for me, most I can move out from Natwest or RBS daily is £750, for me to be able to do more I need biometrics enabled. Everytime I go to enable it I'm told 'You've not used the app enough' Grrrpaddyposh said:Going to be my deposits into NW and RBS tomorrow as I get paid then.
Question - is there a limit per day on both for taking it out? I think I saw RBS was £1,000 max withdrawal from the app per day. Is Natwest the same?
It does seem to have changed when I just checked a minute ago to £750 to a contact per day. Then it says "please use digital banking to make a payment of a higher amount"0 -
I couldn't do it - in the process to add a person they autofill my date of birth with an incorrect one and won't let me change it. I know the bank have the correct date of birth for me because it's my customer number.Amateurd said:I can't seem to find a way to switch a joint account to NatWest. They only allow you to add someone to an account after it has been opened. Website sent me round in circles and no human help available. I did try the automated robot chat for help. Let's just say if AI is going to take over the world it won't be NatWest's chatbot that starts it.0 -
Apparently I can now setup biometrics. Will doing that increase the amount I can set up a payee and withdraw to then?paddyposh said:

Yes. My wife's switch to NatWest was supposed to be yesterday, but hasn't happened. Nothing from them to say why or apologise.WillPS said:Anyone had their switch mysteriously delayed by Natwest? My wife and I were supposed to have switches from TSB completing yesterday, but despite all texts assuring it was going ahead and nothing suggesting there was a problem, and then the customer service asking us to, and I quote "wait until today" (yesterday) we're now being today it'll take another 2 days.Complaints raised, obviously. Just interested if this has happened to anyone else.
Thank you. I'd encourage you to get her to raise a complaint opened about it.

thanks you are right, it is the same as one from an account i had closed back in 2019.bioboybill said:
My wife got sent a customer number with 4 zeros at the end. It turned out that they wanted her to use her customer number from when she had an account in 2018. If you previously had an account and know the number try that.anna42hmr said:
I wonder if MSE have been given the heads up for their publications.bioboybill said:I just checked the T&Cs on Natwest and Ulster bank, and there is no mention of April 2nd.
Hopefully i will be able to request switch in time, as waiting on the account to be opened (applied on sunday without requesting a switch yet). I had a text with the account number from Natwest today and stating they will email when the account is open, so hopefully once get that i can apply for online banking and then put the request in for a switch. (the latest email had, also from today states that they are getting the account ready and will be open soon, but need to run a few checks???)
Strangely the text message states a customer number but the digits at the end that should follow the date of birth are all zeros so either that is an error, or there is all zeros after the date of birth, if its an error, hopefully that won't slow things down.
should be sorted now, managed to request the switch as an existing customer, wasn't sure i would be able to at first as it asks for the 4 digits of the rbs card for security (as well as the full card number for coop) but found that was shown in the app so took it from there. good job it shows on there as won't get the card itself before 2nd with bank hols/weekend post etc. At least if the offer is pulled on 2nd its all requested.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
I would like to believe that they're saying that all you need to do is apply before the withdrawal data (presumably the 2nd of April) and then meet the other conditions. It should not matter if the application is submitted on the coming weekend/bank holiday -- or, again, at least that's what I would like to believe.RG2015 said:
The terms include the folllowing:danco said:it is likely that the switch has to be started by 2nd April but not completed. Since you have already started switching, I guess it is simplest to wait and see.
Withdrawal of Offer
This offer may be changed, replaced, or withdrawn at any time. If we withdraw the offer and you’ve already applied to switch to an eligible account, you’ll still be entitled to receive £200, provided that you meet the conditions set ou t in these Terms.2 -
To add my experience with RBS, I also couldn't send more than £750 out of the app today and was advised to use digital banking - logged into digital banking on laptop and it said I needed a card reader and triggered one being sent, after that I tried again because I have a Natwest card reader, but I presume it will now not let me try for a few days for security because it still said it wasn't possible before mentioning anything about a card reader. I can move what I need to in tomorrow's limit so it's not a big issue for me to wait.Oh, actually, tomorrow is today now!0

Apparently Nat West/RBS are doing maintenance til 31st March so someone I know is unable to switch til it’s back up and running1

Assuming that won’t affect payments in/out? I didn’t see any message in their appsericthesanddune said:Apparently Nat West/RBS are doing maintenance til 31st March so someone I know is unable to switch til it’s back up and running0 -
Also to check as I know it’s been asked before, has anyone got their bonuses when not depositing for 24 hours? Had a reminder text from NW and RBS that simply says “remember to pay in £1250 by xyz to qualify for the £200”
