  • Just got my Ulster switcher £200.
As a family we’ve now done 5 of these switches this time - so a £1k bonus for us.  Not bad!

Particularly liked these ones at no DDs or minimum regular pay-in needed, so worked for 18 year old in family who doesn’t really have DDs yet.

I’ve been doing switches for several years and always myself and other half for everything, but this is by far the most lucrative, because the triple has been possible.

I just checked the T&Cs on Natwest and Ulster bank, and there is no mention of April 2nd.
I wonder if MSE have been given the heads up for their publications.

Hopefully i will be able to request switch in time, as waiting on the account to be opened (applied on sunday without requesting a switch yet).  I had a text with the account number from Natwest today and stating they will email when the account is open, so hopefully once get that i can apply for online banking and then put the request in for a switch.   (the latest email had, also from today states that they are getting the account ready and will be open soon, but need to run a few checks???)

Strangely the text message  states a customer number but the digits at the end that should follow the date of birth are all zeros so either that is an error, or there is all zeros after the date of birth, if its an error, hopefully that won't slow things down.
I've been waiting for two weeks for Ulster to get in touch about opening my account, I applied on the 12th and did the Hooyu thing on the 13th, and since then I've heard nothing. Many people have said it takes them longer to do things but I didn't think they would be this slow! Fingers crossed for us both!

My wife got sent a customer number with 4 zeros at the end. It turned out that they wanted her to use her customer number from when she had an account in 2018. If you previously had an account and know the number try that.
  • My partner did the natwest switch last year. I did the Natwest one this time round and the Ulster one and for the switch bonus for both. He has never had the RBS switch bonus so decided to do this one. The switch completed last week (22nd March) and the £1250 was left in for over 24 hours. It’s the 27th today and no switch payment yet - is that normal?

MSE Email also stating the 2nd April as the end today so this looks accurate.

Has anybody had their switches complete later than scheduled? My wife is switching from TSB to Nat West, and the switch was supposed to complete yesterday, but hasn't. The money is still sitting in TSB and she has heard nothing from NatWest since  the19th when they texted her to confirm the switch would complete 26th.

I can't seem to find a way to switch  a joint account to NatWest. They only allow you to add someone to an account after it has been opened. Website sent me round in circles and no human help available. I did try the automated robot chat for help. Let's just say if AI is going to take over the world it won't be NatWest's chatbot that starts it.

Yep. When I switched as a new customer the switch was completed 3 days later than scheduled.

Open your NatWest account and get the joint aspect sorted. My understanding is the process is as you describe - open a sole account, then add a joint accountholder separately.

Once that's done, separately initiate a switch using their online switch form: https://www.natwest.com/current-accounts/switch-your-banking-to-natwest.html#readytoswitch
