I decided to go for the Ulster switch on Saturday evening. Completed the application form online, but haven't heard a thing since, not even from Hooyu. I know it was over a weekend, but I expected to at least get an ID check request. I selected a switch date of April 4th, but can't see that happening unless things speed up a bit.0

Thats annoying - my natwest switch is due to complete on the 3rd april. I have no comeback since I already got the RBS cash but really gutted if I miss out by one day. Also my Ulster switch hasnt even got to the ID request part yet.0 -
it is likely that the switch has to be started by 2nd April but not completed. Since you have already started switching, I guess it is simplest to wait and see.0

I just checked the T&Cs on Natwest and Ulster bank, and there is no mention of April 2nd.1

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

As long as a person has not had a switch bonus from one of the three banks when making the application they are not ineligible, so in parallel is good, but commencing an application after receiving a bonus in theory makes one ineligible, but in practice ... well it seems a lot have done this.
I don't know where the information about 2nd April came from, it doesn't seem to be anywhere else (yet) and normally banks pull a switch offer with very little notice. As @RG2015 says it's when one applies that counts, so you should be fine.
Ulster Bank's process is a real pain, partly online, partly by letter ... and is very slow, three to four weeks maybe to point of receipt of the incentive. They don't always require ID either online or by mail, but sometimes they do, in my case they didn't and just required the signed return of the application letter confirmation page (received 5 days after applying online). There were a couple of long threads this time last year.1 -

Hopefully i will be able to request switch in time, as waiting on the account to be opened (applied on sunday without requesting a switch yet). I had a text with the account number from Natwest today and stating they will email when the account is open, so hopefully once get that i can apply for online banking and then put the request in for a switch. (the latest email had, also from today states that they are getting the account ready and will be open soon, but need to run a few checks???)
Strangely the text message states a customer number but the digits at the end that should follow the date of birth are all zeros so either that is an error, or there is all zeros after the date of birth, if its an error, hopefully that won't slow things down.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..1
