Grateful for a bit of energy to do some gardening - I shaved down my fig tree to 5 bare branches - so probably no figs this year.
Separated out a pot with a rose, a jasmine and a honey suckle. Planted the rose and potted the jasmine and honeysuckle for later planting.
Have not managed to fully tidy up after all of my adventures - so looking forwards to when the council start emptying green bins again. Feel incredibly anxious about work, but for now am off sick for 3 weeks and hope for a bit more after that. So will need to take this resting seriously.

HMRC tax payments: I eventually got this all cleared :-)

((Hugs)) @Toni'sfriend @ditty1234 - hope you both feel better about things soon xxDecent though cold day here today. No rain for a change! The green bin was emptied yesterday, and I took great pleasure in decanting the rest of the horrible dead hedge that we removed from the front garden into it. Also apple prunings, as OH pruned the last tree yesterday. I picked and cooked the rhubarb that I had forced under an upturned pot. Really pretty pink stems, like the really expensive early rhubarb that they have in W*itrose. A lovely treat. I didn't bother replacing the pot as the rest of the rhubarb is growing now. Also picked salad leaves, a few lettuce leaves from the mini greenhouse, then land cress, wild rocket, sorrel and chard from the garden.A load of washing was done, and pegged out on the line. Now on airer to finish off overnight in front of the stove.I filled some little cakes that I had made a couple of days ago with jam and whipped cream, assuming that DD and kids would be here later, as they usually do on Saturdays, but they were busy elsewhere today. So the cakes will do us for puddings for a few days. Also cut up some peppers that were languishing in the fridge, and roasted them with a red onion, and used in the topping for naan bread pizzas. We had some of this for dinner, with salad. The rest is in the fridge for future lunches.I have put some sales stuff away, and sorted out the freezers. I have two, a biggish upright one, and a little countertop sized one, which is supposed to be used only as a backup, when there is lots of homegrown fruit and veg for example, or at Christmas. However, I have been using it more often, and it is obviously costing money to run it when not strictly necessary. I redid my freezer list and found that everything fitted quite easily into the large one. So the little one is now switched off to defrost. I will give it a clean tomorrow. I now have an up to date list of what I have, which will help with meal planning (and keeping shopping costs down - they have been shocking lately!).Quite pleased with what I got done. Tomorrow afternoon I need to fetch my brother, as he has chemo again on Monday, and it is easier, with all the roadworks and floods that we have round here at the moment, to drive straight to the hospital city from here rather than fetch him from the next town first. We will need to leave at about 6.45 on Monday morning to get there through the rush hour traffic in time for his appointment. He can have dinner with us, and stay the night in the spare room.Grateful today for no rain, and for getting lots done9

I have got two peach coloured roses which are blooming in a container in my back yard. I am not going to tell them to stop. I think they might have got confused by the scaffolding gloom. They are all of a foot tall.Desperately boring day here, I have been glossing the woodwork that I have just spent a week stripping. It will need another coat tomorrow. It is a filthy job, but will look better done than undone, and then I can just get it carpeted and it will look lovely. Just plodding on ... like the little donkey. Surely it can't take much longer????Tomorrow is the last day of half term, it did not feel like half term because I took DS3 to revision sessions at college 4 days last week. They have enjoyed themselves shouting down their idiot boxes at their friends. The washing machine broke on Friday (the paddle shredded this time) and hopefully the new bit will appear tomorrow. Will be very glad of payday next week.

Today I am grateful for fabulous sunshine to start the day with, for Pip enjoying an art group, for a chat with a neighbour, for leftovers for tea, good coffee.

@Toni'sfriend, don't beat yourself up about what you've not done. Your health is more important, & any visitors will be coming to see you, not a show home! Concentrate on your recovery & if you have the energy to do a 5 minute job, do it if it makes you feel better. But rest as much as you can. The immaculate home can wait for another day!
@ditty1234, the same applies to you too! I hope your time reporting your plants made you smile & you enjoyed your time outdoors. Don't be too hard on yourself either. Each tiny step forward, adds up to being in a better place soon.
A good day here. I hung the washing out after breakfast & put all the shopping from last night away (had already done the fridge & freezer stuff). Walked just under 5 miles with DH. Saw a heron near a small inland loch/large puddle in a field! The same place we saw the Cormorant a few weeks ago.
It was still sunny in the afternoon, so I finished chopping up all the huge branches, then started tidying a border. Treated myself afterwards to an icepop & lay on my bed with my book.
Watched a film with DH & DS1 after tea & did more knitting.
Grateful for living in a beautiful place, pottering in the garden spring flowersUse it up, wear it out

@Toni'sfriend - I always feel that way about my house since I let the roommates move in. Will have to do something as I am going to need to use the walker to get around soon so have to clear the area to get through. Will be having surgery for hiatal hernia, after we (the doctors and I) figure out what is wrong with my legs and my heart beat. it isn't the heart itself - that has been checked. Who knows.
I am grateful for the people on here who keep me going - I read even on days I don't post.11 -
Thank you weenancy and Thrifty, you both said what I was going to. No beating ourselves up. After my whinge the other day, I woke the next day and counted my blessings. I haven't had a stroke. I don't need anyone to feed me (as in spoon stuff into my mouth) or dress me (everything pulls on, no zips or buttons although I did have a wobble before Christmas when I was cold and tried to put socks on - I gave up with one sock just covering my toes). I can still walk, very slowly and sometimes painfully and with limits on how much I do before my knees and legs refuse to do any more.
I'm in pain today. Despite using 'brufen gel and taking paracetamol until 16 minutes ago I was using my 'in labour' breathing to make things breathing. However I've managed to get onto the bath board and have my shower (1st win) and used the cold water (as it's warming up) to ease my knees and ankles and back, then used the hot water (after cleaning myself) to ease my shoulders, shoulder blades and most of my back (the gel can only be used in limited areas) and I've unkinked quite a lot. That's 3 wins and if I don't do much today I'll try my best to be grateful for those. My eyes are still quite sore so I'm reading rather than having screen time.
There is quite a lot for me to be getting on with, upstairs, downstairs and at grandma's but I need to make sure I'm safe so I need to bite the bullet and ask people to be there with me - I can kick bags of rubbish or clothes downstairs but I can't carry heavier things (CD and dvd players that are on curries list of recyclables and the old hoover upright that has been wedged into the airing cupboard). So asking 3 people for help today (including paid help), sorting out the gas and electric account and any pottering tasks I can do (another sunny day so shuffle things into spaces where they can dry properly clothes, wood, soil).
Grateful for my bed, painkillers and getting the couch to myself for a while (yesterday was a making noises with any attempts to move day)10 -

Well done on your achievements today @grandmanerd. Little & often are great words to follow 😃
I was aching when I awoke today, so put a hot water bottle on a shoulder at a time. DS2 had my heated microwave cushion thing, but this method helped in the meantime. Hung washing on the line, then prepped veg for soup. Went for a walk with DH, then finished cooking the soup, it was delicious!
Practiced Norwegian, then did some sewing. Had an earlier tea as DS1 was working tonight. Did the ironing, another phonecall from my auntie in America, as she'd not received the email id sent the other day. She's going to book her flights & hotel now. DS3 was dropped off by his GF's family, so I didn't have to pick him up halfway.
Grateful for my muscles relaxing, my auntie's excitement, DS3 getting a lift home
