DawnW said:@grandmanerd please don't assume that everything taken by house clearance companies will go to landfill. Most will have sales outlets for anything saleable - I work with people in this field. They may even reduce what they charge for the clearance if there is saleable stuff. If you think about it, not only can they make money by selling on, but they have to pay for landfill, so will avoid where they can. Many are quite environmentally conscious too. So don't let environmental concerns sway you unnecessarily, so long as you ensure that they are properly licensed. You can always ask what they do with stuff, and choose a company based on that. Of course, you may wish to donate some things to charity separately. And first of all make sure that there is nothing that you or your family want of course.
My Aunt had asked me was I going to get a skip, I laughed and said I can't physically move and lift stuff into one, and more than one would be needed anyway (too difficult with the time frame).
What I did do was sort through the stuff, some got distributed among family, other things like medical supplies taken to give to charity ourselves, then came the clearance which was an absolute life saver.
The firm impressed me so much I had them move me 2 years later, didn't even get a quote from anywhere else and would have moved my date to secure their services.11 -

Norwegian done on wakening, read my book whilst eating breakfast. Headed to work in a headspace for what I thought the day would entail, then completely changed at lunchtime! Walked to a cash machine after work.
Watched 1% quiz with DS1, I managed to get further than him this time 😃 there's life in my grey matter yet! 🤣
Had an earlier tea, then did some more work on the memory bear. Packed up at 9pm & started a new jigsaw.
Grateful for this jigsaw having lots of colour - makes it easier to do, afternoon with pupil going ok, things going fine with architect this morning, bank card working in cash machineUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Today didn't start great, but slowly getting to do the things I need to do. Taking it easy at work, will do some self care later this afternoon and will get ready for going to the office tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, I must admit. Have finally received the letter of authorization to sign and send back for the pension from my previous employer to be sent over to my current pension pot, so they can grow together and hopefully perform a bit better. It took quite a while to get these letters, they had to send it 3 times as they kept emailing me to chase me to sign and send back this letter but I hadn't received it! It's so sad to see how the postal service is struggling at the moment, weeks go by without us seeing a postman doing the rounds, even if I know we are waiting for a letter. Our postman told us that as of now they are only aiming to deliver packages and next day letters, any other letter is let to pile up until there's enough to justify a trip to the addresses (and no, I do not live in a rural area). Anyway, I am going to post it tomorrow and finally feel good about having tackled a financial task that has been bothering me for years.
From now until Thursday I really am just aiming to preserve my energy, feel better, as I want to start March in a more positive way.
About the M for March, on top of some of the words that have been suggested, I am not sure why but Munching keeps resonating with me. Munching MarchDebt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Yesterday was a bit of a traumatic day to say the least. I went for my pre op assessment and while I was in the hotel attached having lunch I got a phone call asking me to come in tomorrow and have surgery on Thursday. I think they had a cancellation. When I stood up I keeled over bringing the table, chair, a planter, glasses, etc, etc with me. It was so embarrassing. I think they thought I was drunk but when I explained rather tearfully what had happened they were really nice. I think my already high blood pressure just shot up after the phone call. Anyway, they phoned the Boy and he came a brought me home.
So, I'm here trying to cancel appointments and deliveries and get myself organised.
Won't be around for a bit but I'll try to keep up with all your adventures. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -

As you say they'd probably had a cancellation and with you just being there, you got it! Hopefully they'll be able to get you sorted out and on the road to recovery. Will be thinking of you and sending Healing Thoughts and gentle (((hugs))) XXXI Believe.....
