Good news Toni'sfriend but I understand your reaction. Hugs and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I've had a quietly successful day. This morning I took 11 or 12 bottles of non-alcoholic wine to the food bank 'for Mothering Sunday' and the pile of odd balls of wool that have been hanging around for a while (they'll probably be used to make blankets for the special care baby unit).
Came back home to rest for a while. DS3 said he would go to grandma's house with me today, so off we went. He brought down the 3 mattresses and a broken bed frame (they will only be collected next week but I thought it would be better to break the job down (he had to rest in between) and then we only have to get them round the corner on the day before collection (not getting up at 5 am to do it).
Whilst he was doing that, I opened the back door and chopped away at the ferns, vincas and !!!!!! willow. I've filled 2 rubble sacks. I've also put several of the rubbish bags filled by the lodger (can't get to the bins yet but the bags can be damping down the jungle undergrowth). DS3 complained that there was lots of stuff on the non broken bed so I went to deal with that (made a heap of pillows on the floor and pulled at the fitted sheet to pull the rest towards me).
i then went in the front bedroom to pull out 4 of my mum's blankets which can go to the Sally Anne collection bin and looked through a few other things (old dress patterns and mags of animal photos). happy but very tired so have been resting on the bed since I got home. Next door has a 'to let' sign up now so I may phone the letting agents with a list of demands.
Grateful for getting things done (and DS3 doing things with only minor grumbling), quicker and cheaper journeys both ways and lotss of resting and useful information gathering (gardener had lost my phone number so neighbours came to ask for it)7 -
Thinking of you @Toni'sfriend. Hugs and best wishes.7

Truth never damages a cause that is just (Mahatma Gandhi)
I've had enough of someone else's propaganda. I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice no matter who it's for or against. I'm a human being first and foremost and as such I'm whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole

Children have never been good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them
(James Baldwin).
For nothing is fixed, forever and forever, it is not fixed; the Earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born and we are responsible to them because we are the only witnesses they have. The sea rises, the light fails, lovers cling to each other and children cling to us. The moment we cease to hold each other, the moment we break faith with one another, the sea engulfs us and the light goes out
(James Baldwin)

After yesterday's ridiculous farce with / without smart meters, today was more productive. And OH is cooking the dinner, so all goodShopping day today, so not a NSD. I have totally lost track of those, as usualWent to work this afternoon and sorted out my sales unit. Brought a lot of stuff back home - I have carried it up 2 flights of stairs but not put it away yet. To be honest, compared with carrying it upstairs, it is easy to put it awayBut that is a job for another day! I have completely opened up my unit, and was immediately rewarded by selling 2 items. No doubt it will get overcrowded again.Went to see my brother after work, took his washing back, and the items he had asked for from the supermarket. He was in there with his neighbour smoking and drinking vodka at about 3pm
after chemotherapy the day before yesterday! Still, he obviously feels ok, and ultimately he is terminally ill, and it is his choice. I didn't stay, as the smoky atmosphere didn't agree with my asthma. It is good that he has a friend that he gets on with, and the neighbour is nice enough.
Grateful today for OH cooking, my brother being ok-ish and happy enough, no doubt due to the vodka, and a couple of sales6 -
It's been an other slightly rats day, I am very scared of loosing my job while off sick, and at the same time desperately wanting a new job! So I just want to stay in bed with my head under the cover.
That said I am really looking forwards to a nice sweet potato curry for dinner.Isa help to buy: 950/3000 13%

Today I am grateful for bumping into a friend at the gym and having a good natter, for bargains from liddle, for kettlebells, for jigsaws, for time with Pip.

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow @Toni'sfriend, & a speedy recovery. At least with not having much notice, you've not had long to worry about things. Hope you got all your appointments changed.
Sending hugs @ditty1234, you'll get through this. What's meant for you, won't pass you by!
Yesterday went well. Went for a quick walk with work bestie & her stepson after work, had a laugh on the way. Bought flowers, then delivered them to a friend after tea. She's just finished chemo & waiting to hear about radiotherapy now. Was lovely to catch up.
Today I was prepared for my usual Wed routine, only to have it changed (probably for the better) mid-morning. Dashed to town after work, for an optical appointment. My cataract eye has changed on the x-ray, etc, but nothing they can do for it, til I get my cataract removed. So could be another 4 months wait yet .. Went to mum's after, bingewatched 4 episodes of a series & I did some knitting. DS3 stopped by after meeting with his GF, then we came home together. He received an email yesterday from the employer he had a mock interview with last week, to offer him some work experience. He came bounding out the house to tell me all about it 😃
Grateful for DS3 getting work experience, my timetable today changing, quick walk with colleague, fun with mumUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I know this is almost certainly the case, but at the moment I just don't know what is next, and it feels unnerving.
This morning I am grateful for mild drizzle and the clouds thinning.
