Today I am grateful for a quiet day, for staying warm and dry, for Pip having a fair day at school, for completing some online training, for good coffee.

Yesterday and today were slow days. My knees especially are quite sore (yesterday I only managed to drag myself downstairs to collect pasta salad and protein to go with the things I already had in my room (lots of water, fruit and oat and honey bars). Tuesday was fairly strenuous so I have to pay for it (chopping ivy to leaven my green bin). Today i had to be downstairs by 10 am as my prescription was being delivered but I mostly stayed on the couch. Made lunch and when DS3 came down I was more than ready to come back upstairs (if my knees and legs are aching I need to have the whole couch not the less than half of it I am left with when DS3 is there).
I was hoping to sleep but the painful knees were stopping me. Ibuprofen gel was followed up later by paracetamol and eventually I got comfortable. Spent a long time thinking about how I could tackle the stuff that needs doing. I can cope with a couple of slow days as I recognised that if I don't rest, the injuries will get worse.I have things to take to the cs but that just felt impossible today (but I've added to the book pile to go).
Grateful for easy food, deliveries and painkillers.11 -
Thanks @beanielou, I'll keep an eye out for one up here, sounds great!
Take care @grandmanerd & rest up. Hope your knees feel better once you've had some time on the chaise.

Woke easily today after dreaming I was hugging a baby monkey on my knee! 😂 No it's not DH, he's not very hairy!! Made dinner for today & tomorrow.
Work was tricky, but nothing I couldn't handle. Had a couple of laughs with the teacher, which relieved some stress for us both. She's very appreciative of what I do, & a down to earth lady.
Sucjed a square if dark chocolate when I got home & caught up on emails. My auntie in America is booking her trip now, for July, so will be great to.see her & her husband.
Tried to log into a webinar with DS3 after tea, but it was full! Emailed his guidance teacher instead, to see if she can shed light on his options after his exams re:work experience/apprenticeship.
Practiced Norwegian, then finished cutting out the second memory bear.
Had a long soak in the bath with my book & used up lots of little free samples sachets of moisturiser. Probably smell very weird with all the different samples, but I'll have lovely soft skin 😂
Grateful the teacher, chocolate, relaxing in the bath, the full moonUse it up, wear it out

I read that as relaxing in the bath under a full moon for some reason Thrifty, and thought that sounds lovely but a tad nippy! I am a fan of an outdoor bath tho, ever since staying in a house in New England that had a bath (with hot water) in the middle of a rose garden. Not sure it would work the same on the patio outside my flat
Sending love to you ditty (I am a fan of a protracted phased return when things are tough) it sounds like you have had a lot going on, and I hazard a guess that all comes on the back of some tough times during COVID. So many people I know in key worker roles have just kept going and just kept going, and the trauma and utter exhaustion from what was a downright weird and scary time in 2020/1 is catching up with them. I know that contributed to me feeling wiped out.
And sweetbriarrose - be gentle with yourself as you navigate all the things that need to happen after a parent or loved one has passed. I hope it goes as smoothly as it can.
Am wide awake when I really don't need to be, having been very weary all day long. Fell asleep on the train on the way back from the big smoke, luckily don't think I dribbled on or even rested my head on the stranger crammed in next to me. She said not anyway, but maybe she was being polite!
Having a busy and spendy few days on household dramas. This is what an emergency fund is for, except the emergency fund took a hammering for all the car related emergencies. Arghh does it never end? Plumber coming tomorrow to hopefully help find where the waters coming from that's coming down through the kitchen lights at the moment - has been much liaison with lodger who has been great, I am lucky to have them. Simultaneously have mattresses arriving at the flat to get room 2 all set up on Tuesday when the bed frame arrives. Feeling so nearly there on many fronts but also so nearly unravelling on others!
I am off tomoorow night for a a spa weekend with a friend, luckily pre paid before all these dramas cropped up. Room 1 at the flat is let out on Saturday, so need to finish last bits for that - hoover, iron pillowcases, buy milk. I think I had done everything else before I went away for work yesterday.
Have just been and put washing in machine so at least that is doing it's thing overnight Going to top up my hot water bottle, have some painkillers, and some water, and try to sleep! Night all x11 -
So many in physical/emotional pain at the moment. Sending gentle healing thoughts to all who need them XHoping I can make a start today on things that need to be sorted out...two close family bereavements have left my mind in a whirl.Grateful that DD and DSIL are on the mend at last from the latest viral infection.... they've been really poorly for weeks, but are starting to feel vaguely human again.I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

@grandmanerd has the gardener been in touch about the other house??‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I've had a busy day. 3 bags taken to the clothes bank at little Arseda with a small shop afterwards. Then a trip to the YMCA cs with a bag of clothes, a few books and a box of cups and a fancy lamp. Went round the corner to buy a shampoo bar (gave in to the temptation of 4 small tea tins with owls on. In my defence I've been looking for extra herb and spice jars for a couple off years and these were much cheaper than the ones I've seen that I like.
Checked the time and decided I didn't have time to book a long overdue haircut.
Went back home, found my distance glasses, packed sandwiches and a litre bottle of water in my bag and went to watch Singing in the Rain at afternoon cinema club. I've not been for ages and wanted to make the effort. Did lots of exercise whilst I was there - wrote the alphabet with each foot 3 times, lots of toe tapping and some leg raises. Found it hard to get up at the end (my bum and back were aching for the last 1/4 of an hour) and walked back across the car park very slowly. Picked 3 more books from the downstairs shelves, gathered my supplies and am back on the bed (with a bolster in the small of my back.
Grateful for easy food, getting things out of the house, resting my aching knees, back and other bits10 -
Today I am grateful for doing a very early gym session, for lunch out with dh, for not getting caught in the hailstorms, for the neighbourhood cats who sit at the patio doors waiting to be noticed and fed!, for my hyacinths blooming (are they early?), for Pip being super inspired by a talk at school this afternoon.

Sending hugs @Chrystal.
Had been dreading today, but it actually went really well! Had a chat at the end of the day, with the teacher who I worked with yesterday, she also shares my concerns. Grateful she's keeping me in the loop.
Went to drop sewing off & the shop was closed, must've locked up early. Mum is going to drop the completed jobs off in the morning for me. Took her shopping & had my 10% off, so did my big shop. A lady collected 10 blankets mum has made for the Linus Project.
Had a late tea, then sat knitting & watching a new series. Have finished the patterned yoke now, so won't have to concentrate as much!
Grateful for people on the same wavelength, mum living in town & able to drop sewing off for me, it's now the weekend 😃🎉Use it up, wear it out

I'm plodding on here very, very slowly. Don't seem to be making much progress on anything at the moment. Although I did manage to summon up the energy and enthusiasm to get my hair done yesterday but that was a real necessity. So Himself is going to Aldi to do the shopping and I am going to try very hard to actually do something. A few 5 minute jobs would be better than nothing. The house is a tip! I'm embarrassed at the state of it. I hope I don't get any unexpected visitors. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9
