DFS SCAMS

Firstly I would agree with many a comment already made - many big stores do the price hype thing - the law makes it possible. They aren't gonna sell you a £2000 worth sofa for cost price, now are they?
Secondly, don't allow DFS (or any other furniture store) to fob you off.
Even if they waffle on about the 1 year guarantee, you have protection under consumer laws (goods should be fit for the purpose they were bought for, etc). Its reasonable to assume that a two grand sofa (or however much) should last more than a year. Contact your local trading standards for help.
I would say, DFS don't make all of their own furniture. They also buy in from UK manufacturers, and I am fairly sure they import too. So its not necessarily all their fault if the furniture IS crap!0 -
a friend of mine used to supply DFS until they told him he was too dear
there are lots of trade shops, discount shops that will supply the same gear at 70% less
you apy for the credit
0% is a scam as they have to make money
basically if you have 5 years to pay the sofa will need to be replaced before you finish paying for it.
dont be daft.
I have seen a 5k DFS sofa in a local outlet/factory shop for less than £600
Gnever take advice from broke or unsuccessful people

Thats exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find anyone who stocked the one I wanted and found that most of the sofas in factory outlets are slight seconds or end of lines.
We all know the 0% is BS but if you can't get discount for cash you may as well take the so called 0% and stick your money in the bank
Too late for me but anyone who is interested I have been told that there is a furniture company called Klaussner who offer a standard 5 year warranty on sofas that can be extended to 15 years (if you want to keep it that long). After searching the net they have an american website Klaussner.com and branches in St. Helens and Burnley (North West England).A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.0 -

For Greenstuff.
The Manhattan has a £50 discount, in the CREAM colourway only, if you order over the internet.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Hi everyone.
Firstly I have to say I have had my money refunded in full, they didnt take the CC charge.
For Furnitureman.
Yes I know the discount is for the cream Manhattan only, if you go to the webpage https://www.sofasofa.co.uk/content.productdetail.486.html
it says Manhattan sofa special offer £299.
Ok fine, I want two, a three seater and a two.
Then on the side it says this in bold (cut and pasted so is word for word)
Internet only offer- Save a further £50 off any Manhattan Cream sofa
Offer Price limited to Cream only
Ok, fine, I am ordering on the internet, the cream only so I want my further £50 off, I ordered 2 so that's £100.
I order and with fabric protection and CC charge that's £641, but when I get to the checkout it doesn't take my £100 off so I phone the 'hotline' number and am told not to worry it will be taken off by the internet dept and I will only be charged £541.
Ok, but when the money goes out it's the full £641, so I phone them up to be told that there is no further £50 off, it is one £50 off and that's already in the price shown, I have the page up in front of me and yet the girl on the phone is insisting it says no such thing, she gets fed up and puts the phone down on me.
I then have a fun couple of days actually trying to get my money back, this in the run up to moving house, I did not need.
So that's the saga, as far as I read it it's a sofa on special offer for £299 (original price was £349) with a further £50 off for internet orders, I understand Further to mean more, so I can't see if there is only one discount where the further comes in, as far as I am concerned that's misleading advertising, so there :P
So here I am on my uncomfortable DFS sofa, so if anyone knows where I can get a cheap but nice cream sofa without being mislead or fannied about, please do let me know.
I thank you

??? ??? ??? ???
For GREENSTUFF:
I am going to look in to this matter for you, and will let you know my findings.
For ZELDAZOG:
First of all DFS import the majority of their Leather Furniture. Most of the Retail Chain stores, i.e. DFS, Courts, SCS etc have found it is cheaper to import than have it made in the UK. This is why they will quote you anything from 10 to 20 weeks for delivery.
Your second point that it is not DFS's fault if the furniture imported is 'crap' is totally wrong.
Have you ever heard of Quality Control. So if you buy an imported Leather Sofa from DFS et al, and it is 'crap' would you want to take up your complaint with the Far Eastern supllier? I think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The responsability for 'faulty goods' or 'crap' (your words not mine) lie with the retailer you purchased it from, who in turn takes it up with their supplier.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Heloo furnitureman, you seem stressed
Thanks for looking into the matter, I appreciate it and think it a good idea for you to put their side on here.
Sorry if i've caused you a headache :-/

For GREENSTUFF
Yeah, you do get stressed in this business!!
I've been in touch with the Customer Services Manager (who I know) of this Company and reported your problems.
She was shocked to hear of your difficulties and confirmed that you should have been charged the correct amount at source and the discount is £50 per sofa.
She wanted to get in touch with you to iron out these problems, but I couldn't give her any specifics i.e. name and postcode to trace your original order.
Without going in to specifics on this site for obvious reasons, I do have clout and can pull irons from the fire.
We as a Company can only apolagise for the misunderstanding and grief this has caused.
If there is anything I can do for you, let me know.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Hello Furnitureman, Good to see you smiling again ;D
Thanks for looking into this for me, I still am confused though, (no quips please) did the manager agree that it was a FURTHER £50, i.e 299 plus a further £50 for internet orders leaving £249, or just ONE discount already shown i.e £299 ???
I will mail you with my postcode so you can look into it if you like, but please don't put yourself out,
Thanks anyway,

Hi Guys,
I confirm that the offer still needs clarifying as its still not clear on the website or from what funiture guy discussed with the CS manager.
I must say however that this is a bargain especially if there is a further £50 off per sofa accross the whole range, ~£250 or £300 saving of the normal price. However by the looks of it you could buy the same sofa at full price on the website if you miss the fact that there is an offer on. I'm sure that sofasofa would point out the difference when it came to taking payment ;-). Also the picture on the offer page makes the sofa look darker than it does on the normal page.
Anyway I will be popping into the Cardiff showroom when I'm on my way home to Swansea later this week to see what the range looks like.
Cheers
